Manta Teo is the statistical and emotional leader on the best defense in the country. I understand why offense gets the glamour. But Stanford’s victory over Oregon reminds us all that there really are two sides of the ball.

The impact of an outstanding offensive player is easy for most of us to observe. But there’s no question defense actually can dominate a game as much as offense. The stats show NDs defense and Teo, in particular, are the best in the business.

Freshman has never won the Heisman. Not sure of the Maxwell or Camp.

Manziel is the most exciting dynamic player on the board. Marquis Lee out of USC is probably the BEST player I’ve seen all year but can’t win a Heisman on a 5 loss team.

Manziel has outstanding numbers, better than Klein, Mariota, and even Tajh Boyd ( I saw somebody mention him, and to be fair, he belongs in the conversation)

Manziel STILL leads the SEC in rushing (and he gets pulled often in the 3rd qtr). He beat an Alabama team that people wondered if they could beat a bad Pro team… in Tuscaloosa! He’s lost 2 games by a combined 8 points.

If you haven’t seen him, give him a watch. He reminds me so much of a young Michael Vick (btw he has WAY better numbers than Vicks BCS year) He is so exciting to watch.

Well for the past week, the hype about Johnny Manziel for Heisman is diminishing. Thank goodness the press has been educating all of you that Freshmen rarely achieve this award. It has been shared to public by many Sports writers, but, still many in the public eye keep writing ‘Johnny Manziel’ for Heisman. Now, in the last few days most of the Hype has been reduced to realize – historically over the past 75 years, a freshman has only received this award – maybe 3 times. I’d recommend (with others) the list of awards above, that Johnny be considered for the Maxwell Award. Comments?

How is Tajh Boyd not in the running for the Maxwell or Davey O’Brien award? He had a season that was at least statistically superior to any of the other finalists. Especially for the Davey O’Brien award. His numbers are far better than the 3.

I think miller and Klein shouldn’t even be in the list for the quarterback award. If you look at their actual “quarterback” stats they aren’t even top forty in passing yards passing touchdowns passing anything. Which they should be judged on really.

You have to remember thefiesty1 is a longhorn fan who will object to any award an Aggie receives. As an Aggie who actually went to A&M I would be objectionable enough to say that I think Vince Young deserved the Heisman the year Reggie Bush took home the trophy. He’s pissed because the Ags are having a great year and the spotlight is not on the school over in Austin. Sucks to have so much butthurt.

It’s so dumb to say Manziel shouldn’t be up for any awards since he’s a redshirt freshman. That’s like saying, “oh you have an awesome business, but you shouldn’t be rewarded for that awesome product until you’ve been in business a few years.” He’s got talent. He’s used it effectively. More props to him.

Quinn Sharp of Ok State is a FG kicker/ punter and is a definite NFL draft pick. Look at his stats, kicks touchbacks every time and high punting avg, are these clods on dope????
