So in regard to being wrong which of the following statements is untrue.
1. USC was recognized as the national champion in 2004 by the AP
2. USC was the recognized as the national champion in 2005 by the AP & BCS.
3. The BCS later (which means after) decided to vacate the 2005 title in May 2011
4. The 2005 BCS National champion game was never played. USC did beat Oklahoma by the score of 55–19. They were never the 2004 BCS Champions nor were they identified by the AP as the AP National Champion.

Of course none of this has anything to do with the topic. But I give up…..

USC was the BCS champion in 2004. That championship was later vacated by the NCAA as part of the sanctions. Since USC remains recognized as the BCS title holder on the NCAA website, USC still has the BCS title.

In any event, @infrno started flinging incorrect and inane comments completely off topic related to SEC superiority and USC’s record. My response was to point out there is no SEC team and respond to @infrno’s error which was “It’s funny to see a USC fan, whose team has won exactly 1 National Title in anything close to recent years” Since USC has won two (for you SEC guys who may find counting a challenge, that is the number after one). The on-topic remarks provided commentary on the relative lightness of the sanctions imposed on tOSU for which now they are asking for relief. That said, if tOSU want relief they might try an appeal to the NCAA COI.

Let us focus instead on the astounding stupidity of those fans that would petition the leader of the free world to alleviate one’s need to have a satisfactory television bowl viewing experience in early January.

I’m good on the facts. On the other hand you seem to have a problem in this area. Just so YOU know, USC was identified as the National Champion in 2004 and 2005. (2003 & 2004 seasons). I didn’t say USC held the BCS title even though that title WAS awarded to them in 2004. You may have bought into the idea that the BCS title is the only valid recognition but since the championship team is not determined by an NCAA championship or tournament event it is nothing more than a mythical national championship. A championship that is based on a highly flawed selection process I might add.

Be it as it may, USC remains recognized as the National Champion on the official NCAA website list of champions and we don’t have to play some version of “let’s pretend” to change that reality.

Since LSU has a 4-1 BCS record trailing only Florida in the group of SEC teams, not really sure what point you are attempting to make. It’s not a myth to say there are some really good teams that play in the SEC conference. USC’s run from 2003-2009 was impressive as any team from the SEC or any other conference. The idiotic, over-the-top sanctions were imposed, appealed and upheld. Whether you agree or not on the point of USC knowing about Reggie Bush receiving benefits, the levied severity of the sanctions was based on USC’s compliance. As an action that warrants a penalty that compliance or lack-thereof is miniscule compared to having the head coach covering up multiple and diverse activities and even though he was aware, having those players participate in post season play. tOSU got off lightly and rather than petitioning to play they really need to STFU.
