The status of Cincinnati quarterback Brendon Kay was, to some degree, in question earlier this week after he suffered an elbow injury during a 10-3 loss to Rutgers last week. However, Bearcats coach Butch Jones announced that Kay will start tomorrow (Friday) against South Florida.
This will be Kay’s third start of the season after taking over for the all-namer yet always inconsistent Munchie Legaux. However, Kay had struggles of his own against the Scarlet Knights last week, tossing two interceptions. He has 543 yards and three touchdowns on the season.
Cincinnati cannot win the Big East this year, but could still shoot for a 10-win season if it wins out the regular season and a bowl game.
You don’t want any part of thr Rutgers defense.
Kent State didn’t seem to have much of a problem with Rutgers D.

With all due respect to Kent State, Rutgers’ QB threw 6 interceptions in that game. In the second half, RU receiver Quron Pratt, literally dropped the ball while running for a TD. Kent St recovered that fumble and game was lost. Turn the ball over 7 times and score 3 TD’s and a FG off of those turnovers will demoralize any defense. The Golden Flashes are enjoying a fine season. But Rutgers beat Rutgers that day. To say Kent St had no problem with Rutgers defense is not accurate.
