APBased on how the 2012 season has gone injury-wise for Maryland, nothing less would be expected.
On the school’s weekly injury report released Thursday, starting defensive tackle Joe Vellano (pictured) is listed as doubtful for Saturday’s regular-season finale against North Carolina. Vellano had been listed as questionable on last week’s injury report, so apparently the ankle injury with which he’s been dealing has gotten worse over the past several days.
Vellano played in this past weekend’s game, but was in a protective boot following the loss to Florida State.
Additionally, linebacker Darin Drakeford has been ruled out of the game with a head injury.
Drakeford and Vellano are tied for the team lead in sacks with six each, while the latter leads alone with 14 tackles for loss. Drakeford is second with 9.5 TFL.
