You are right about the Trojans being a disappointing 4 loss team this season but they have a well established track record of playing ND as if they were undefeated. It’s going to be USC’s bowl game tonight and I expect them to try to pull out all the stops. It will be up to Notre Dame’s defense to contain their passing attack and keep everything in front of them much as they did when they played Oklahoma. Should be a great game and I can hardly wait for kickoff.

Newsflash irishking, the number one team in the nation beating an unranked four loss team is not exactly a shocking blow… IF they manage to beat them at all.

And the genius who wrote this article apparently doesn’t realize, Bama and UGA will be playing in the SEC title game, one of them pretty much has to lose… loser dude must be not just an SEC homer, but a graduate as well…

Most coaches in College Football are cheering Lane Freaking Kiffin on because they know that as long as he is at USC, USC will only be marginally relevant.

You wouldn’t want Chris Petterson or Nick Saban to land at USC.

Completely disagree. Recall Oregon’s performance in the 2010 NC game against Auburn (i.e. against Cam Newton). Held them to 19 points which is more than I can say for the SEC teams they played that year (luckily my Gators didn’t play them in 2010).

I’m not so sure about Oregon’s defense this year after the debacle at USC, but I do think that USC has a pretty damn good offense so it wasn’t like they were gouged by some girl scout troop in the ACC (*cough* FSU *cough*).

In any event, while the PAC12 isn’t exactly known for defensive prowess, they have a few teams that get the job done. Great conference overall, in my opinion.

Also, while I think Bama would roll over Oregon (that would be the NC game I’d like to watch from a football standpoint), I think that Oregon wins against either ND or Ga. And does so fairly decisively against ND.

Picking nits here maybe, but Georgia’s path to the championship game is just as straightforward as Alabama’s–beat GA Tech, beat ‘Bama, and they’re in. I agree it’s tougher for them because I think ‘Bama is better, but they do nonetheless control their own destiny.
