Stanford to be down a D-lineman against UCLA

(John took care of this earlier, but allow me to nudge in and personally wish you and yours a happy Thanksgiving. Okay, I’m done.)

Stanford will be giving thanks today for a victory over Oregon last weekend that puts the Cardinal in the driver’s seat for a spot in the Pac-12 championship game. However, Stanford will be without one of its defensive lineman this Saturday against UCLA.

The Associated Press reported that Terrence Stephens would miss this weekend’s game with a “personal matter.” The Stanford Daily later confirmed the report. Williams, a senior, has started seven games this season and has 10 total tackles, three TFL and a sack.

Stanford must beat the Bruins this weekend to secure the Pac-12 North and face UCLA again in the conference championship. The Cardinal can still land a berth in the Pac-12 championship with an Oregon loss to Oregon State.
