You might want to hold off on predicting the BCS championship bowl matchup until after next Saturday. Strange things can happen in the SEC championship game, and UGA's defense has steadily improved and their offense is already there. I don't think it will be a cake walk like you think, or I am sure hope. It is going to be a good game, and although I am sure Alabama will be favored by 7 or so points, it could end up being a real dog fight. There is a lot at stake for this game, so don't expect a cake walk for either team.

Speaking of Michigan's losses, you might take a look at Oklahoma. Lost two games to teams ranked in the BCS top 5. Congrats to ND. I'm no fan, but they EARNED their way to the title game. Florida is the team in the SEC that scares me right now more than anyone. Pac 12 title game a rematch played at another site just one week later.....UGHH!!

florida727:

Ha! "gaining valuable experience" so that is what white hair connotes? ha. (an aside: My beloved bride of all these decades is at me again, suggesting she can change my hair color to any color I would like...ha. last time it was such a shock to me, I called her "woman." This time I am prepared with a better and more loving response...ha!)

Thanks for reminding JT of his responsibility. Hope it is not like the "off season" with almost daily reports of arrests. And then when there were no arrests, a count of how many days since the last arrest...ha. (or ugh!)

Florida truly showed what a high SOS schedule can do for a team! It strengthened them for a tough game against a quality opponent. Like tempered mortar, the fire tempers the mortar which strengthens the wall of stone.

Lame Kiffen is a disgrace. USC players, alums, and fans deserve better than that. I hope Pat Haden looks at the last 10 minutes of the game where Kiffen cost his team a TD at about 10 minutes left by calling his timeout and then cost them another TD by completely telegraphing what he was going to do and any time a short pass to the flat or again to the corner would have either yielded a TD or another pass interference and first down.

Congratulations on a well played and hard fought big time win! But keep in mind, our game next year will be at Tiger Stadium, not The Swamp, and by that time we think Mettenberger will have more confidence and maybe he and his receivers will be reading the same book, same page. Maybe, maybe, maybe, but it should be a great game. It always is.

We are preparing for Appalachia, with one foot and some people staying back here to keep the relief going for south Louisiana as well.

Have a great Sunday!

As a Florida fan, I'm obviously disappointed. However, my congratulations to Notre Dame for running the table and earning their spot in the title game. Despite what the BCS ranking MIGHT indicate, the Gators will not, and should not, have a place in the championship game. If Georgia wins, they belong. Besides, they won the head-to-head matchup with UF in Jacksonville, so they'll have earned the trip to Miami. Personally, I still think Alabama is the better team, will win the SEC title game, and head to South Beach.

Congratulations also to Ohio State. Regardless of whether or not the Big 10 is "down" this year, like ND, they beat everybody that was put in front of them this year. Love him or hate him, the fans there showed a lot of class in positively reacting to Tressel's appearance honoring their 2002 national championship team. As they should.

Not to hate on USC, but Lane Kiffin showed why Tennessee fans helped him load the moving van. His play calling on 1st and goal from the 1 was abysmal. You have a 6'4", 240 lb. athlete QB, you shotgun him and have a thousand options available to you. Instead, he puts him under center and tells everyone his plan: hand it off to a running back running left, a running back running right, or a running back running up the middle. A defensive coordinator's dream come true. He can put 19 guys in the proverbial box without worrying about having to defend against a pass. His "trust" in his QB was clearly on display. Congrats, Lane. Pre-season pick to win it all, you figure out a way to lose FIVE games and finish unranked. First, and probably last, time a preseason #1 will expect so much and deliver so little. I feel bad for all Trojan fans. They deserved so much more. SHOULD have been a big year for them. Instead, they got "Lane-d".

I'm not a big "predictions" guy, but it wouldn't surprise me to see Jadeveon Clowney in the Heisman conversation next year.

Can't wait for all the conference title games next weekend. John Taylor, YOU'RE responsible for filling the gap between Sunday and Friday :)

As a Florida fan, I’m obviously disappointed. However, my congratulations to Notre Dame for running the table and earning their spot in the title game. Despite what the BCS ranking MIGHT indicate, the Gators will not, and should not, have a place in the championship game. If Georgia wins, they belong. Besides, they won the head-to-head matchup with UF in Jacksonville, so they’ll have earned the trip to Miami. Personally, I still think Alabama is the better team, will win the SEC title game, and head to South Beach.

Congratulations also to Ohio State. Regardless of whether or not the Big 10 is “down” this year, like ND, they beat everybody that was put in front of them this year. Love him or hate him, the fans there showed a lot of class in positively reacting to Tressel’s appearance honoring their 2002 national championship team. As they should.

Not to hate on USC, but Lane Kiffin showed why Tennessee fans helped him load the moving van. His play calling on 1st and goal from the 1 was abysmal. You have a 6’4″, 240 lb. athlete QB, you shotgun him and have a thousand options available to you. Instead, he puts him under center and tells everyone his plan: hand it off to a running back running left, a running back running right, or a running back running up the middle. A defensive coordinator’s dream come true. He can put 19 guys in the proverbial box without worrying about having to defend against a pass. His “trust” in his QB was clearly on display. Instead, they got “Lane-d”.

Nicely done Buckeyes!!! The future looks awesome in Columbus! I can only hope somebody else in the B1G steps up next year as well!

Personally, the B1G sucked bad and should collectively spend the holidays at home studying film and doing drills - they we just plain aweful!

Clowney is a beast. Deserves all the accalades. Josh Dworaczyk of LSU, or called "the old man" by his QB, made Clowny a non-factor all game with LSU. Makes that offensive line play for LSU even more impressive.

JT: Thanks for making the Big 12 picture simple. Now I get it. Thanks for putting the Michigan record this season into perspective. Sure they lost 4 games but not to cupcakes, to the best teams in the country. Come on LSU, come on Michigan, let's schedule two games (at night!)

I don't understand the Southern Mississippi implosion as well. Fedora's departure alone should not account for the demise.

Notre Dame won...with a huge assist from Lame Kiffen. USC alums and fans deserve better. Pat Haden needs to watch the final 10 minutes of the game 3 or 4 times until he get its it. Lame Kiffen must go.

Arkansas lost due to numerous takeaways by LSU and poor coaching by JLS. Best to the Razorbacks in finding a good coach. Look forward to next game at Tiger Stadium, where we will keep that ugly boot for the 3rd year...hopefully.

This is all sadly and quickly coming to an end. It is hard to imagine. It seems to be ending quicker each season, or maybe I am just getting older.
