Jelani Jenkins likely out of Gators’ bowl game

A broken thumb cost Jelani Jenkins three games in the early part of the 2012 season.

Unfortunately, another injury a few feet south will cost the Florida linebacker the final game of this season as well. Probably.

Head coach Will Muschamp confirmed Monday that Jenkins suffered a broken bone in his right foot during the win over Florida State Saturday. As a result, Muschamp said, Jenkins will likely miss the Gators’ bowl game, which will be a guaranteed berth in a BcS bowl if they remain in the top four in the final BcS rankings.

In nine games this season, Jenkins totaled five tackles for loss, two sacks and an interception.
