I have said over the years, that if you can’t recruit, do not
count on being around long. As for Embree, before he starts
his Jessie Jackson impersonation, he better go back over
the years and look at some of the “”white”" guys that didn’t
last over two years.
Further, if you will look at his, and it was his, coaching staff
you will see why there was no progress, but regression. Just
because you were a decent football player, does not mean you
can coach……

With the right roster anybody can win in college football Larry Coker proved that at Miami and just like Larry being able to sustain that is why Chizik wasn’t qualified to began with.

I’ll give you a basic example two coaches applied for a Head Coaching job:

White Guy record= 5-19

Black Guy record= 14-18

Based solely on those records I have no idea why the White Guy was hired, but eventually Auburn figured it out and fired Gene Chizik.

I think we can all agree that wins & loses is all that matters once your on the job, but getting a real chance sometimes racism is a problem.

One year? Wow. Guess he was winless. Thats pretty horrible. Shame. He was a good Defensive Coordinator. He’ll probably get that position somewhere and do well

Feel bad for Coach Johnson as this must sting. But a $2.1 million buy-out will ease some of that pain. I guess one can conclude the Peter Principle example at play in this one. But hey, Ellis is laughing all the way to the bank.
