Anyone who watches college football and doesn’t think the NC was last saturday between ALA and UG is a homer. ND doesn’t belong in the same category. I give them a lot of respect for their graduation rate at what is a very difficult institution but the best CFB in the world is played south of the mason dixon line and east of the Mississippi. SEC owns the BCS….

Don’t count out the Irish! They didn’t get to #1 on accident, they are talented! Their D is definitely something to be worried about. Alabama won lots of games by lots of points but have only faced a few really tough teams and lost one of them. The Irish are for real and are coming to Miami to play the best game they have ever played. Bama needs to be ready to win this one, it won’t be handed to them like so many of their games this year. They better bring their “A” game or they will be headed home with another “L”

He’ll never be Bear, but I still love Nick. Even so, no matter how many games he wins, I’ll never trade my cool houndstooth hat for one of those goofy straw things he wears LOL

From a historical perspective, I couldn’t have wished for a better game. Only a fool would underestimate Notre Dame. They’ve had more than Irish luck this season. They’ve had what the Irish call “the devil’s own luck.” More important, they’re talented and well-coached. And they know how to defend against the run. I’m expecting a brawl … and looking forward to it.

I’ve got no dog in the proverbial fight, but how can you not think this’ll be a great game? Tradition alone makes this a ‘must watch’ sporting event. Anyone (yeah, YOU, #omniousprime) that doesn’t watch this game can’t lay claim to being a “fan” of college football. Rooting interests aside, you’re nothing but a hater if you’re not watching.

I’ll even exercise an exception clause in the Florida bylaws that allow me to root for Alabama because of their SEC affiliation

One last thing: Never underestimate the magic, the “luck,” if you will, of the Irish.

It’s been a while, but I’ve seen good ND teams before take on seemingly far superior talent in games they were considered overmatched (Fla State, Miami) and come out on top.

I’m an ND fan and very excited for this game.

However, I do think the USC-Texas National Championship game was the most anticipated game of the BCS era. Both teams were undefeated. USC was considered one of the best college teams of all time while Texas was undefeated with tons of talent led by an electrifying Vince Young. Texas had also just won the Big 12 Championship game by a score of 70-3! There were Heisman winners and highly decorated players all over the field.

And the game lived up to the hype. Best NC Game ever. Probably one of the three most memorable CFB games I’ve ever watched alongside the Boise State-Oklahoma Fiesta Bowl and the BC-Miami Doug Flutie Hail Mary game.

Not to take anything away from this game. Two great programs. Great storylines. Should be fun.

Oh Please, stop overhyping one of the most pathetic games ever held for a national championship. I hate both programs and won’t bother to watch the most despicable matchup ever in the BCS. This is why we need to end the Broken Corrupt System of contesting for a national championship.

Very few gave Georgia any respect before the SEC Championship game and the Dawgs came up just four yards short from earning an invitation to the National Championship Game. Now a lot in the media and around the country are downplaying ND’s chances again the vaunted machine from Tuscaloosa.

Don’t buy into it gentlemen. Unlike several “power” teams out there, ND is a real threat and will put it on us if we give them a chance. Prepare like this one is for all the marbles . . . because it is.
