Mizzou will be an average SEC team. This is not a place the best recruits want to play football. I don’t care who u decide to replace Yost with, you need top tier players.

Mizzou this season is called karma for leaving the big 12 and thinking your program was better than it was.

You never won the Big 12, how did you think you would be competitive in the SEC.

Change coordinators, head coaches, or conferences it doesn’t matter. It is “lipstick on a pig”.

End the in still a pig or in other words still an average football program.

It wasn’t the scheme that A@M ran that made them successful, it was the playcalling. Any mizzou follower could tell you that over half our plays were QB draws and wr screens. A@M went vertical n the passing game, that’s why they succeeded. They let their playmakers make plays, we didn’t.

As for me calling for more power backs and stuff, that’s just my preference. I side with you thinking that you don’t have to play a certain way to win. Our offense had no troubles in the Big 12 and it wouldn’t have in the SEC had we mixed up the playcalling a little more. That, is on Yost.

This notion that certain schemes work at different levels or different conferences and some don’t is a myth perpetrated by the ignorant.

You mean next year we will have more than 10 plays in the playbook? It’s about time. 11 years was long enough. I hope they go under center more. Maybe recruit a few power backs and some beefier lineman. Or as Sheldon Richardson would put it, play some more “old man football”. Good riddance Yost. That playbook worked in the Big 12, you didn’t adapt it to the SEC, then you got the ax. Good to see Pinkel doing the right thing and letting him go because I sure as hell don’t think Yost resigned like reported.

Mizzou “somehow lost a touchdown and an extra point on their way to a new conference”? I think the reason is due to the higher quality defenses they faced. They scored 20, 10, 15, 10, and 7 in five of six their league losses. Injuries played a role too, but they simply played better defenses.
