Notre Dame adding more postseason awards to its trophy case

Yesterday, it was announced that Kansas State quarterback Collin Klein and Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te’o were recipients of the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award and Bronko Nagurski Award, respectively. Te’o was also the recipient of the Dick Butkus Award.

Today, Notre Dame tight end Tyler Eifert received the John Mackey Award for outstanding tight end. Eifer led the team with 44 receptions for 624 yards and four touchdowns. Additionally, Irish coach Brian Kelly was named the Home Depot Coach of the Year. Kelly is the only two-time recipient (he also won as the coach of Cincinnati in 2009).

The Home Depot College Football Awards Show will be tomorrow, Dec. 6, at 7:30 p.m. ET.
