What a joke. It is so true though about the “non profit” schools pulling this in. I am a non profit fan and think they should be aided more.

But you sure are right that Universities are huge in pushing the left wing agenda along with Disney/ABC/ESPN and Benny K.

if that kind of money is going to be made by the big power conferences, then the smaller schools should demand more money when they become homecoming or “bye week” opponents for the big boys…if I was an AD at a mountain west, C-USA, Big East, Sun Belt, MAC or at a FBS school, I would ask for at least $2Mill plus in my pay for play game….

I see Nebraska is paying Southern Miss $2.3 Mill next year because So Miss switched their home game from Hattiesburg MS to Lincoln NE, but So Miss needed the money to pay off the recently fired Ellis Johnson as head coach.

Someone please explain to me how these “non-profit” organizations can make this kind of PROFIT, yet they are not railed against like other profit-making businesses.

I know it’s b/c they are all left wing organizations and the media is 99.9% left wing so colleges/universities are a sacred cow for the media but still, it shows how hypocritical they are.

Another reason for the “big” schools playing the “small” school: sharing that wealth. I know most casual college football fans don’t care for those games, but for the alums and actual fans of both schools these games matter–yes, most of them are blowouts with only two benefits: playing and thus evaluating younger players and a much needed cash payout. But at least once a season we have ULL losing to Fla on a last second blocked punt and a Western Kentucky beating Kentucky.

The not-so-funny thing is that a lot of the fans of the “have not conferences” haven’t figured out that the new system doesn’t help them one bit. There are a lot of fans of say, C-USA teams who think that the new system will give their team a shot at the NC or at least that they’ll be in the running for a spot in the FIesta Bowl every year. The howls will begin the very first year of the playoff system when everyone from all of the conferences figure out what the reality is.

One of these days we’re going to be talking about REAL money. The haves continue to have and the have nots continue to not have. Why don’t those have nots just drop down into a subdivision and have their own playoffs. They’d probably make more than their share of this Sedo-playoff system.

Screw the bowls, all the bowls. College football does not need them, the bowls need college football. The sooner we get to an 8 or 16 team playoff format the better. Play the first round of games on campus and let the scumbags in awful blazers (bowl directors) bid on the rest. Watch the money fly in. Think how good the football playoffs would be this year if we had an 8 team playoff. Note to the NCAA, if you link bowl/playoff money to individual teams rather than conferences you are less likely to either end up in court or in front of Congress, explaining how you are screwing the little guy in favor of the 1% types in the super conferences.

Worse than the NCAA bigwigs is that we have to freakin watch in on ESPN….anyone else tired of the lamos calling games there???

Give me the SEC crew on CBS or that new FOX crew…one of those guys actually called the games and got excited even raising his voice as players sprint for TDs in the 4th qtr.

On ESPN we have to hear stories about people’s dogs, or some players new cd he has out, or an interview with some non related person, how often do they talk not even paying attention to the game??? So lame.

Ask me how I really feel.

Boo, double Boo for the NCAA bigwigs and ESPN.

And I don’t give a rip if the little conferences get less money Benny K…..you liberals around here are always crying about something. The ones that produce the goods, get the goods. Make sense. The Big East, MAC, WAC etc….can pull out of the holes by winning. And really don’t respond, cuz it was like this before the money and the playoff…spare me the whine fest.
