The bowl ban part of the sanctions is over for USC. They still lose 10 scholarships for each of the next two years which is pretty major.

At the end of the day, no matter what your bias is Tennessee is just not at the same stature of USC.

Tee Martin turned down Alabama/Nick Saban to coach at USC. All you Tennessee folks need to get some perspective. As of this January Coach LANE (for those of you who are spelling challenged) Kiffin will have been gone from Tennessee for three years. If Coach Kiffin is as poor of a coach as many seem to believe you should be glad he’s history but the haters continue. In this case Tee Martin, like Lane Kiffin elected to go/stay with USC over other alternatives. While USC didn’t have a great year, Tennessee is and will remain nothing more than a medium fish in the almighty SEC pond.

No fan of Kiffin, but I think it’s funny he refused. Why would he want a lateral move from a nationally prominent program to rebuild project?

He should have been offered the OC spot.

Tee is in the early stages of building a career in coaching and this would have been a lateral move. No big deal and no hard feelings. Hopefully we’ll see him back in Orange down the road.

is the NCAA probation against USC not already over other than perhaps a few scholly restrictions?

As I highlighted in another post, Tee had NCAA issues even as a player-you don’t think he is going to apply what he learned then as a “recruiter”.

Sorry to see Tee turn down this opportunity to return and help Tennessee. Hate to see him stick with Lame Kiffin. I can assure you that Butch Jones will be at Tennessee long after Lame Kiffin has been fired at USC. USC will soon be on probation again.
