Mizzou stays in-house for a new OC

The sudden resignation of longtime Missouri offensive coordinator David Yost meant Gary Pinkel needed to begin a search for a new assistant to run the offense. It appears Pinkel didn’t have to look too far.

Following up on reports from and the Columbia Tribune from the weekend, Missouri announced that co-offensive line coach Josh Henson has been promoted to offensive coordinator. Additionally, wide receivers coach Andy Hill has been named associate head coach and quarterbacks coach.

“I’m excited for both Josh and Andy, and for our team,” said Pinkel (pictured) in a release.  “They are both deserving of these opportunities and I’m confident that they are going to do great things to move our program forward.  Josh has been a key part of our system for four years and he will bring his own style to how we will operate.  Andy is an outstanding teacher of the game. His experience and knowledge of our complex passing game, as well as his energy and drive, will translate well, and will give him a unique perspective that he’ll bring to the quarterback position group.”

Henson previously served on LSU’s staff as tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator. He also held those same titles at Oklahoma State from 2001-04. Hill is a longtime receivers coach at Mizzou.

A&M made a great decision to join to SEC, Mizzou….not so much. They have just relegated themselves to mediocrity, and that is if they are lucky.

Well u can win at mizzou. As Tom Osborne said its a sleeping giant if they find right coach. Gary pinkel is awful. Take away the cream puffs in no conference and he is a .500 coach

As long as they get rid of that Texas Tech spread crap I don’t care who the OC is. And go ahead and take away Franklins and Bersterssers scholarships too.

The previous poster is right mizzou is a sleeping giant program always has been. It sits in the middle of a state with 6 million people and 2 major metropolitan cities. It’s the only bcs divison one team in the state. I agree pinkel needs to go and the next coach needs to be ready to turn us into the winners we should be.
