Getty ImagesFlorida will be a little shorthanded against Louisville next month in the Sugar Bowl.
Coach Will Muschamp said Monday that linebacker Jelani Jenkins (pictured) and offensive lineman Ian Silberman had surgery to repair foot and shoulder injuries, respectively. The surgeries were successful, but both will miss the bowl game against the Cardinals. Additionally, redshirt junior lineman Matt Patchan (torn pectoral) has not been cleared to play.
No other players are expected to miss the bowl trip.
Jenkins played in nine games this season and ranked as one of the top-1o tacklers on the team with 29 tackles. He also recorded five tackles for loss, a pair of sacks and an interception.
Payback for that Elite 8 loss is on its way.
This will be the healthiest the Gators have been all season plus they have plenty of depth to off set these 2 missing players.
Gators will look to make this a statement game and position themselves for a high 2013 preseasson ranking.
Gators should be a Top 5 team in the preseason with plenty of talent and depth back from a 12-1
team. Their defense will be as good if not better so things are looking good for the rowdy reptiles.
Look for the Gators to win by 17-20 points……
I agree with you blitz as long as Floyd, Elam, Easley, and Jenkins stay.
