Good post and I agree with your assessment. Pressure will be on the Tide to demonstrate superiority. But they have played in more big games over the past 5 years than ND and I think this will be yet another advantage for 'Bama. I think a 9 1/2 point line for The Tide is way too many points and ND will use that to their advantage as bulletin board hype. Brian Kelly has accumulated good talent that have adapted to the system sooner than expected. Like I said in my first post: I hope The Tide win; I hope the game is played injury free; and both teams are deserving. Now the rude and obnoxious ND fans can hit the thumbs down button and post some disgusting response. That is how some of them roll. But ROLL TIDE!!!

I have been an Irish Fan since the early 80's and I am enjoying the attention the #1 ranked team in the Nation has received in the last five weeks since the Irish got the top spot for the National Title game.

In some respects the SEC deserve the accolades that have come their way in the last seven years. Having said that I fear Crimson Tide players and their fans might be overly optimistic about their teams chances against Notre Dame. We all know how well ND and Alabama have done in the Regular Season and

I believe that this game will be much closer than the so-called experts think it will be.
I am not saying that the #1 team in the Nation can't be upset, but in my opinion there will be more pressure on the Tide to win to prove that the team deserves to be playing in the laszt game of the season.

We'll all have the answer in the early morning hours of January 8th.

Yeah we'll why don't these Yankee coaches stay at their Yankee schools? Well ill tell you why, because they know that the sec pays the best and plays the best. The reason urban is at Ohio state is bc of health problems aka he couldn't handle the SEC anymore. I appreciate urban for what he did for our program but the way he left was pethetic. Now he's in a much less stressful environment where people just don't care as much. But anyways for the record if the leg humpers (ga) played in a natty I would buy a Tshirt for the other team and cheer them on mainly bc georgia fans have about the same amount of delusion as you guys.

I also never said anything about only getting money from bowls when you win? But you have to get to a bowl to get paid in the first place am I right? And terrific job of pointing out who we didn't play hoss. We played five top ten teams who were then ranked in the top ten while four of them still are and the fifth is ranked twelfth. Are you kidding me man?? Why in the heck would we schedule anyone else other than fcs opponents and make it virtually impossible to make it to a decent bowl? And nobody is "holding a gun to your head" and making you play all bcs schools. Your Notre dame, the most over hyped program in the history of the world, if you go unbeaten then you go to a natty.

And as far as our steel curtain defense we were ranked fifth in total defense for the year, one spot ahead of your holy Irish defense that only played two top ten teams. So how come your bashing our schedule? SEC teams do this to take a break from killing each other every week. Yeah it's easier to take on an SEC for just one game playing a whole slate of them is different. Look at mizzou, played georgia well for three quarters and then went on to get beat by Vanderbilt later on in the year because of the beat downs that they sustained earlier on. A&M had a heisman winner and studs all over the field and still only managed to be fourth in the sec. Your sound ignorant with your schedule rants when florida is easily in the top five of schedule strengths In multiple polls.
Your probably one of those misplaced Yankees that I have to live amongst down here in florida bc they can't stand where they're from so they move to where it's nicer. Your about as intelligent as one.

@gator:

I'm a Southerner who is an Irish fan, yet I don't go to all the SEC articles to post passive aggressive rants to hide my own insecurity like u folks. You folks are obsessed w/ a team that you've not watched play an entire game.

The irony is you use Southern pride vs evil Yankees. First off, I make Attila the Hun look like a Liberal...so don't go there Che. Secondly, you do realize that the best teams in the SEC have been coached by Yankees. Saban @ Bama, Meyer @ UF before he left, Miles @ LSU, Richt @ UGA. Based on your logic, those coaches y'all worship would qualify as carpetbaggers...right?

I at least respect Bama/Auburn fans and Ole Miss/MSU fans. If their hated rival played in the NC, they'd root for the the opponent regardless of the opponent. You do realize Bama & other BCS teams from the SEC get paid regardless of winning the bowl?

Now to your alleged strength of schedule. Dude, you're in a 14 team conference and u only play 8 conference games? I'd respect the SEC & other BcS powers if they'd quit playing FCS schools...that's inexcusable. Y'all love to point out NDs triple OT win over a 6-6 Pitt. At least they're in a BCS conference & playing in a bowl. Florida needed a miracle to survive LA-Laf of the mighty SunBelt. The Gators even struggled w/ Jacksonville St of the FCS for a half (10-0). They're not exactly the Steel Curtain when it comes to D...but y'all could only manage 23? A win is a win, but u might want look at your own schedule before bashing a team who has NEVER played an FCS school. ND beat ten bowl eligible teams & they were all FBS schools that were in a BCS conference or Independent.

See, not every team is going to be up every year. While NDs schedule looked impossible in the preseason, SC, MSU & Mich were not as good as thought. That's not NDs fault. But it is the SECs fault when they schedule Sun Belt schools & FCS teams like Wofford, Jax St, Towson, Western Carolina & Georgia Southern. And don't cry about playing a conf championship game. No one put a gun to your head...it's nothing more than a money grab. Had your Gators not choked vs Bama in 1992, it would have blown up in your face. BTW, when is the last time UF left the state of Florida for a non-conference game? I'm guessing early 90s?

Wow now I know your a Notre dame homer. Your comments are very vague and rather rediculous. I will have a bs in biology at the end of the spring semester and am currently applying for various PT schools. I don't know what your getting at slamming me for my education other than your just another ignorant Yankee that doesn't have enough sense to formulate a decent post. Your making my case for the superiority complex thing. And the reason my conference is better than the rest is bc of fans like us. We care more, it's part of our heritage. I mean if people in towns like Tuscaloosa, or Gainesville experience losing seasons couches burn and coaches get fired while in other places yeah it sucks but it's not horrible. So I would say that the fans do dictate a small part of a teams success and the schools definitely care about us bc they care about winning. Notre dame is over rated year after year and it's sickening. Yeah I get that the hype that the SEC gets is rediculous but it's earned. You losers get ESPN specials and tons of national exposure bc of garbage y'all did thirty years ago so it's a thousand times worse.

Your making my case for the superiority complex thing. And the reason my conference is better than the rest is bc of fans like us. We care more, it’s part of our heritage. I mean if people in towns like Tuscaloosa, or Gainesville experience losing seasons couches burn and coaches get fired while in other places yeah it sucks but it’s not horrible. So I would say that the fans do dictate a small part of a teams success and the schools definitely care about us bc they care about winning. Notre dame is over rated year after year and it’s sickening. Yeah I get that the hype that the SEC gets is rediculous but it’s earned. You losers get ESPN specials and tons of national exposure bc of garbage y’all did thirty years ago so it’s a thousand times worse.

@thegamecocker yeah I really don't understand the logic of him. I mean they're already irrelevant and acts like his conference doesn't keep them in the talk. But I couldn't agree more with the hire they made In freeze. Seems to care a lot more than the previous loony toon they had which this guy seems to support. Hints the name "nutt." But spurier will always be loved by gator fans regardless of what he does at SC. You guys will be next the next great SEC powerhouse if things continue the way the are. Thank you hopefully the good florida gators show up to play that day. Beat the brakes off of Michigan please to send them off with two SEC beat downs in one year!

Is rebelnutt nuts or what? I couldn't tell if he was an SEC supporter or a ND sycophant. Your post is absolutely correct. I think Hugh Freese is doing some nice things there if in fact he is an Ole Miss fan. He needs to be taught to not "bite the hand that feeds him"...and that would be the SEC. BTW, good luck in your bowl game! The Head Ball Coach always says if Carolina doesn't win, he hopes the Gators do!
South Carolina fans agree.

@rebelnutt yeah I would say we've sucked most of the season but still managed an eleven win season. We fared a little bit better than your rebels who sucked against Texas, bama, A&M, georgia ( y'all lost by like twenty points) Lsu, and lets not forget the powerhouse VANDY. I wouldn't expect you to understand the chant either since you guys don't have much experience with it or any at all. No they're not the "sec" gators or any of tht bafoonery, I just understand that the SEC plays better football than anyone in the country even with your bottom feeding rebels riding coat tails with the bcs bowl money we get every year. I mean when weas the last time you guys were relevant? The sixties? You really shouldn't be bitter towards the whole SEC brotherhood thing, I mean if you have a halfway decent season your Rebs may crack the top twenty five ONLY bc they are in the best conference in the nation. This would never take place anywhere else

Well first of all, the reason you northern folk don't understand the sec chant is simply because you guys don't know what's it like to get tested every week in your inferior conferences, or no conference at all (Notre dame). Just ask A&M or mizzou fans, I GUARANTEE that aggie fans will be beating their SEC chests after they beat OU bc they know what it's all about now and so does mizzou. Unfortunately for mizzou they didn't have the luxury of having johnny football at the helm to lead their sorry team to a bowl.

The second reason we chant is because of the media fap fest that took place with overrated teams like Notre Dame, ohio state, and Usc for years while teams like an undefeated auburn in 2004 had to watch the championship at home and were serenaded in all the BS.

The third reason and probably the main one has nothing to do with football. Is has everything to do with the supiriority complex that the rest of the nation has against the south in general. You brain dead Yankees and limp wristed west coasters act like everything about your pethetic liberal supporting lives are far greater than anything the "hillbillies" in the south would ever know about. Well, let me tell ya, ya suck at football and a mojority of you suck as human beings, but most of you are too ignorant to realize it.

In conclusion, that is why us "inbred mouth breathers" chant for the SEC. If anybody tells you any different, they're full of crap. If you don't like the chant, then shut it up. I seriously doubt you can.

@dyke

U do realize Vegas doesn't pick winner or losers nor do they set the spread based on who they think will win? They make their money of the Vig so all they want is equal amounts of cash on both sides.

To use a Vegas analogy, ND is playing w/ house money. 2013 was supposed to be the year they turned the corner. They got there one year early & since no one is giving them a chance...they have nothing to lose.

I just feel sad for all the lower tier SEC fans whose lives will be meaningless when an SEC team (not their's of course) doesn't win the NC. Talk about red-headed step children...the majority of that conference serve as nothing more than Bama's b$!?h.

Your rapier like wit is amusing. Since I don’t follow high school kids like you, excuse me for not knowing about the outstanding prospects. I do know the Head Ball Coach recruited two very good QB’s although I don’t know there names….but I’m sure you do because you’re the recruiting maven. You’re a real rocket man! I bet you know everything about every 5 Star Rival, Scout, or 24/7 recruit. You are just a special guy! Ya know what, ” puddin”, go eat a cookie and smile. ROLL TIDE!!!!

Won’t matter.
Coach Saban & Bama 217
Noter Dame 0

----------

Didn't know Saban can put up points as well?
I would like to see him can more than negative 47 rushing yards on the ND D.

Being that Alabama rushed for 350 on Georgia and barely won... Gerogia not even top 50 against the run in the country.

ND top 5 in every category.

Keep calling ND out of this game ....

Im sure all you SEC fans will vanish after ND wins.
