Johnny Manziel treated himself to a birthday present and went and watched a game. Since his parents probably give him a sizable allowance, I imagine he can afford it.

I wish Thomas Johnson the best of luck for whatever the future brings this young man. He seems troubled and I sure hope he finds the help he needs. Whatever he does, I do hope he goes back to college because an education is very important and you can’t get a job these days without a college degree. Not a decent job at any rate.

Johnny Manziel was also seated courtside at the Rockets/76ers game in Houston on weds night…kid gets around…

as for Thomas Johnson…whatever reason he has decided to leave school for, I hope the young man gets his life in order and returns back to school and play football…he was a 5star recruit out of Dallas Skyline HS, and had a bright future, so hopefully he gets the help he needs for his situation.

According to sources close to the program there are some mental illness issues to overcome. I’m praying for the best for this young man wherever he goes.
Johnny’s family is wealthy, lots of East Texas oil money, they can afford to pay for him to go wherever he wants to go.!

Are the issues drug related? I haven’t heard anything that supports that conclusion.

There are plenty of reasons for a person to take ‘time out’ to get their lives back on track. To jump to the early conclusion that this has anything to do with a ‘character deficiency’ (i.e. a drug problem) is frankly unfair and speaks more to the character of a person who would post such a thing without any stated evidence (alleged or otherwise).

I agree with #mogogo1 and #goodfieldnohit… this kid needs help, which is pretty obvious. For Sumlin to leave the door open as a gesture of his willingness to help an apparently troubled kid, is very admirable. I also agree that, unfortunately, dropping out of school isn’t the answer. Now he’s got too much idle time on his hands. (Never a good thing.) Hope he has the willpower and motivation to seek out whatever help he genuinely needs. The football part, if in his future at all, will take care of itself.

Football definitely should take a backseat in these sorts of cases…but school shouldn’t. Dropping out of college is a really bad sign for this kid. There’s plenty of out-patient programs that would allow him to get whatever help he needs while he worked on a degree.

I do not believe Coach Sumlin is the type of coach who would leave ” the door open” for a drug-addict to return to his team.

Sad deal. The kid has a lot of talent. A&M doesn’t beat Bama without him. I wish him the best, and hope he figures it all out in the future. Football takes a back seat to life in situations like this.
