Getty ImagesNot so surprisingly, Auburn found a very big — and talented — junior college gift underneath its tree Christmas morning.
In a release, AU announced that JUCO offensive lineman Devonte Danzey has signed a Letter of Intent and will be a member of the Tigers’ 2013 recruiting class. Danzey spent this past season at Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College and will have three years of eligibility remaining.
247Sports.com rated Danzey as the No. 1 JUCO guard in the nation, while Rivals.com had the Tampa, Fla., native rated as a three-star prospect. Danzey also held offers from, among others, Baylor, Kansas, Texas Tech and West Virginia.
Danzey is the second highly-rated JUCO player the Tigers have signed this month. A week ago, Cameron Artis-Payne, the No. 1 running back in the country, put his Herbie Hancock on an Auburn LOI as well.
Juco OL Good pick up for you Tigers fans.Seen some good Videos on this kid,Tigers need some help on the OL and Danzey will do well.
And what, pray tell, does a jazz musician have to do with signing a college football LOI?
My man, if you don’t know where that’s from then we can’t help you!
@digbysellers: kids these days just have no appreciation for the classics.
Omg, how does he not get the Herbie Hancock line? I mean..it’s a classic!
Lol
So what’s the big deal? My Tide friends tell me AUBURN is a JUCO.
