I have been to three one there next to the dairy queen. Good eating, without a doubt. I like Gibson for the football sized stuff potato. Always get one to go after I ate my meal. Perfect late supper meal. If you get a chance, south of priceville is a town called Hartselle. They have a place called Whitts, you should try it. No dining room, just a drive thru. Expect a long line from noon till they close

Norm, not only is Alabama one of the prettiest states around, but I have crowned it the BBQ Capital of the Known Universe, and I’m from Tennessee.

There’s 10 BBQ joints in Birmingham with better Cue than the whole damn state of Florida fer cryin out loud. And wherever that retard 4409 lives I guarantee you cant get a decent plate of pulled pork. When I move again, it will be back to North Alabama….for the food. LOL

Normtide, your exactly right. I was raised in the Northeast and had to move South for a short time around 30 years ago…that “short time” became the rest of my life….

I’ll always be proud to be from the NYC area, but I’m now a southerner and damn glad of it.

Better weather, beautiful country, and the absolute nicest people you’d ever want to meet.

Hard to understand anyone not enjoying that video. They could be from anywhere, its the simple joy of sharing with your family.

I’ve lived 50 years and I’ve had nice cars, great homes, and have done a lot of fun things…but, the time that I’ve spent on special trips with my family is the only memory that I’d never trade…not for a million bucks. Those cars and homes faded from view a long time ago…but, the memory of great times traveling with family will last forever.

When all is said and done, those two men will remember that football game forever in a wonderful light…and winning or losing the football game will have no impact whatsoever.

Great post hound. It is funny seeing all these enlightened people acting like the people they claim southerners to be. I have been all over the south. You will bee hard pressed to find more beautiful land or more generous hosts. If you’re living with other assumptions, you’re worse for it.

This truly brought tears to my eyes. My father is no longer here, he passed 6 years ago from the effects of Alzheimer’s and dementia and I wish I could have done that for him with World Series tickets. I know that regardless of the team you root for, making your father happy like that is a priceless feeling and I am proud for that son. Just remember, there is no greater bond that a father and his son. By the way, for those of you posting partisanship instead of seeing the BIG picture of that relationship, shame on you!

That video got to me a little. Some of my greatest memories are my father and myself watching Alabama football. Either at the game, on tv, or listening to the radio broadcast. Luckily, we are still forging new ones with my sons. The way the game gathers us and bonds us is a blessing. I love you Dad, Roll Tide.

Rooting for Alabama in this game, because MAYBE Saban will leave for the NFL after another NC. Alabama should win decisively in this game. Saban comes off to me as a egotistical coach who wants to leave a strong historical legacy. All great coaches are like that, I’m not saying this in a bad way. I think he’d love to pour it on a school like Notre Dame.
