Means, if your not a Trojan fan and nobody cares about them, then why are you even here and making any comments? I don’t see you commenting on any W. Kentucky or Purdue message boards.

Why is it so important for you to comment on a team that is so irrrelevant? Why not take our own advise and go away.

I also understand how this would come off as an arrogant move be cause that was also I first impression and I am a USC fan.

I am not a fan of Lane and it has more to do with his play calling and in game decisions but this time it wasn’t his fault.

USC has two more dinners scheduled with GT during the week. I am sure they will not be late for those.

Also, the only people wondering are a few reporters I am sure USC made the bowl and GT aware. I know there were some tweets from the bowl that explained this as not that big of a deal.

This was not a case of Lane being Lane.

While your above is true, the dinner with the chamber/sponsors is a must do if you are going to a bowl. I am sure the payout USC is getting for the bowl is not that big, but the extra practices pre-bowl are the biggest gain here for USC to set themselves up for next season. Whether this was Lane’s fault or not, as coach he is the ultimate boss of the the football program and will get the blame for failures such as this (much less the rest of the season). The public perception of Lane as arrogant, etc is not helped by this as the ultimate takeaway that this seems an arrogant move by USC. Nobody could bother to make a few phone calls explaining the situation instead of leaving everything wondering what was going on and then just showing up an hour late?

And BTW, there are two programs that have a slim shot at nabbing Chris Petersen, Oregon and USC. He’s showing signs of frustration, and I think one of those two schools can pick him off if the timing works out. Nobody else has a shot.
