APThe biggest story of the upcoming Sun Bowl between Georgia Tech and USC is the now-official absence of Trojan quarterback Matt Barkley. The senior is still nursing a shoulder injury he suffered against UCLA and his collegiate playing days are over.
But GT will be missing an impact player of its own on defense. Paul Johnson confirmed Thursday that safety Isaiah Johnson will miss the game with a vague “lower extremity” injury.

A junior, Johnson is the team’s leading tackler with 87. He also has four tackles-for-loss, an interception and a forced fumble/recovery on the season. Johnson also started 13 games for the Yellow Jackets last year and was second on the team in tackles during that time.
Just this in.. GT is going to get slaughtered with or without the guy… They were handed a waiver to play USC… Enough said
