Getty ImagesUSC already knows it will be without its starting quarterback for the Sun Bowl game with Georgia Tech. Whether they’ll have their most dynamic offensive weapon remains to be seen.
Star wide receiver Marqise Lee suffered some type of knee injury during practice Saturday and did not return. The Orange County Register described it as “Lee [crumbling] to the ground during a drill.”
Following practice, head coach Lane Kiffin told reporters he was “hopeful” Lee would be available for the game. The Register, though, wrote that it “[s]ounds as though Lee’s status for game is in question.”
Suffice to say, losing Lee would be a huge blow for the Trojans’ offense.
Lee ended the regular season leading the nation in receptions (112); was second in receiving yards (1,680); and was tied for third in receiving touchdowns with 14. He was a consensus first-team All-American, won the Biletnikoff Award as the nation’s most outstanding receiver and finished fourth in the Heisman voting.
