Getty ImagesAfter spending the 2012 season wreaking havoc in SEC backfields, Damontre Moore will officially attempt to do the same at the next level.
In a video released by the university, the defensive lineman confirmed that he will leave the Aggies a year early and make himself available for the April NFL draft.
“I just talked it over with my family and the coaching staff, and we just rated out the pros and cons, and the pros weighed out the cons,” Moore said in the video. “It was a very tough decision, it came down to the last minute. It was split because I love Aggieland and because I love the time I spent here.”

In 2012, Moore was a consensus All-American following a season that currently has the true junior fifth in the country in sacks per game (1.04) and tied for eighth in tackles for loss per game (1.67). Moore’s draft stock is viewed as anywhere between early in the first round to early in the second.
Von Miller came back to A&M for his senior year.
Best wishes, DaMonster. Thanks for your time in Aggieland.
Gig ‘Em.
Von Miller wouldnt have gone second overall if he left early. I know he lead the NCAA in sacks his junior year but his senior year he became an all around player.
I think Damontre should stay, but if serious people are telling you you’re a top 10 pick…. you can’t take the risk of staying. I don’t fault him for leaving. Go get your money, and just like Miller, I’ll root for you every Sunday you’re not playing the Texans.
Can it be Jan 4th already??? I HATE the long layover from the end of CFB season and Bowl season.
Gig ‘em Aggies! BTHO OU!!!
