Glad to hear about the stadium lease. Have a soft spot for the Bills and would hate to see them move. So sorry Chan didn’t work out for you guys. He’s really a great OC, and it seemed for a minute that he had the Bills on track. Would love to see Buffalo return to ’90s form and retake that division.

Yeah, perhaps I was a little overzealous…my apologies if I sounded improperly harsh. I don’t spend a lot of time in the comments sections, but it had to do with the Bills and all the coaching news, so I read through them. Born and raised in Western New York, been a Bills’ fan since 1960 through good and bad, so not much about the Bills gets by me…other teams not quite the same. Thanks for coming back at me.

I’m not picking on Kelly … just making the observation that desperate teams all seem to focus on the flavor of the month. If I were Kelly, I’d milk it for all I could salarywise. I’m sure he’s confident he’ll be a great success–he wouldn’t be a good coach if he weren’t. Only time will tell.

I don’t gamble, but would love to take a piece of that action. It’s not gambling when it’s a sure thing. Whatever Nick does, it won’t be in Cleveland.

Thanks for the info, hon, but you exaggerate too much. I took off from December 19th until yesterday. And by “off,” I mean no computer, news, blogs, Facebook, twitter, or anything else that smelled like JOB. The Bills agreed to their stadium deal on December 21st. And Wilson relinquished the reins to Russ Brandon on New Year’s. My knowledge of pro ball is pretty thorough. I may get behind on occasion … but not by months.

Why? Cam Newton would run Kelly’s system to perfection and would give NFL defenses the fits. As for the Jaguars, if they pick up Tim Tebow and hire Kelly then this would another great pairing for a QB to run Kelly’s system as Tebow showed in Denver running an atypical offense he could be successful.

The Browns are so low on offensive talent it will take a few years just to find the personnel to play in Kelly’s offense.

Also, Kelly’s offense could be the next “Run & Shoot” flavor of the month which in the long run could doom the franchise to yet another reset/rebuild era.

For the long suffering fans in Cleveland I wish you luck. My gut feeling is you’re going to need it.

You’re a few weeks/months behind times, Deb. Wilson turned over all aspects of running the team to Russ Brandon — Wilson is the owner in name only, Brandon calls ALL the shots, and has oversight in anything Nix wants to do. In addition to that, the Bills signed a 10-year lease on the stadium weeks before that. The lease calls for a $400M buyout during the first seven years…the Bills won’t be going anywhere for at least those seven years. Up to date on your NFL goings on you’re not!

I don’t see universal back-slapping praise. I see a couple of pro teams that may be willing to mortgage their souls not only on an unproven NFL commodity, but on an unproven college commodity. How many Waterford trophies does this guy have? At least Saban, Jimmy Johnson, Carroll, and some of the other college guys had won championships before the pros came calling.

What you see is nothing more than one or two desperate NFL teams who’ve latched onto Kelly as a possible Next Big Thing largely through media-driven divination. Most fans know better.

If the Inquirer is right about the Eagles being out of the running, he must be angling for WOW!! money from either the Browns or the Ducks.
