AMEN bamafan36, but there is no use trying to explain it, many have tried, none have succeeded. It’s called Southern Pride, it’s a ‘southern thing’. Kind of like when people from New Jersey say it’s a “Jersey thing”, you know? I don’t get that whole scene but I understand that I am not suppose to because it’s not for me to get. The difference is I am not going to make fun of it just because it’s not the cultural background that I am accustom to and I’m sure as hell not going to call them all kinds of hurtful things if one of their sports teams happens to be better than mine. When I say the Pledge of Allegiance or hear the Star Spangled Banner I feel pride in my whole country, not just the south, and despite our many cultural differences, we are all still one nation, under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all. Okay, maybe not justice for “all” per say but that’s for another topic, on another thread, on a different website all together. I still can’t believe that us southerners are still having to defend ourselves so vehemently against bigotry. I guess that’s why this win over ND has felt so much sweeter than the previous championships we have won. It’s just a game but it has come to represent so much more.

I swear I come on this website telling myself I am just going to read the one article that caught my eye in my mailbox and that I am going to avoid the comment section all together. Then two hours and four thousand sentences later I’m like, “damn, I did it again!”

Get used to ND. They will be shoved down or throats for as long as they are allowed to set their own schedule and until they are forced to join a conference. Remember they didn’t join the ACC, only agreed to play 5 ACC teams every year. I’ll bet Duke is on that list every year.

Notre Dame is NOT EVEN CLOSE to returning to prominence.

People are talking about our games against UGA, LSU and aTm. Playing these guys, week in and week out, is another reason we band together. If you happen to make it through the gauntlet that is the SEC, and are in position to play for the BCS CG, we ALL know what went into getting there. That is one heckuva task! You other conference’s don’t cheer for your rival, because you have no respect for them. We, on the other hand, do! Even when they have down years, Kentucky, MSU, Ole Miss, Mizzou, and Vandy, all have the talent and ability to ruin someone’s season! THAT is why we all support each other. That, and the fact that the HATER’S forced the issue.

You know usually when one team “killed” another team their QB isn’t knelled down on one knee unable to look as the other team is 2 yards away from the end zone with only about a minute left in the game with the chance to take the lead and win. An example of when one team “killed” another team would be Alabama’s win over ND on Monday night…

Yes, I agree. That LSU game really took it out of our guys. They left it all in Death Valley. That was a tough run: undefeated Miss St., LSU, then A&M. No outside opponent will ever be as tough as our conference opponents–and the LSU game has become about as intense as the Auburn game.

I had no problem with ND playing in the championship game they were the only undefeated FBS team elgible. However, ND was under the impression that if they were able to stop the run and prevent thier safeties from commiting to the run they would have a chance to win that game. The problem came with the play action. ND had no answer. Did they deserve to be in that game? Yes, would they have done better against UGA? Maybe, but Saban said it best at the end; 5 more yards and it would’ve been UGA in that Game. I for one was cheering for alabama for the simple fact that all the ND fans I ran into gave zero respect to the SEC teams. I’ve been hearing about how overrated the SEC was despite having a 6-3 Bowl record this year. Yeah LSU and Florida lost, as well as Miss State, however the SEC had 9 teams playing bowl games. The only other conference to match that was the Big 12 and they went 4-5.

To everyone that calls us “SEC bandwagon folks” or tells us to stop cheering for our conference and “pick a team”. We DO have our own individual teams, mine is UF. We haven’t always been so dedicated to the conference. We would like to thank you for that. Everyone else talks so much trash about how overrated we are, or how much praise the media gives us, or how we don’t play anybody outside our conference. After so much trash talk over the past 6, no wait, 7 years its made us band together. You pick a fight with one of us you pick a fight with all of us. And eventually, when the SEC loses the Nat Champ, you all are going to talk so much trash to any SEC fan. Doesn’t matter if we’re a Bama fan or from Kentucky.

Te’o lost himself millions!!!!! His first game against a NFL caliber offensive line and he was a non factor. On the flip side Alec Ogletree should shoot up the draft board and be the 1st inside line backer taken. Look how he played against the same OL.

Couldn’t agree more…. Te’o was a top 5 pick before this, scouts got to see him against a NFL caliber line and not only was he a non factor, he was the weak link. Bama repeatedly went after him and over him. He gave up 2 red zone TDs as well.

Te’o will stay a 1st round pick but 15-25 range now IMO…

As an Aggie fan I have to second what louhudson23 said. A&M didn’t KILL Bama… not even close.

A&M was killing Bama in the middle of the 2nd quarter, but that Bama running game just kept churning them back into it. The Aggies never trailed but I had no doubt that Bama would run the ball from the 3 and win the game…. no doubt!

They didn’t… and they lost. But that game came down to the last play.

Hey metito, Pretty ridiculous to say A&M killed Alabama. They got the victory and deserved it.But reality says that being spotted 24 points early and escaping from a Tide first and goal for the winning score is hardly killing someone. Winner flies and loser cries,so congrats to A&M,but they were very fortunate to escape with the win. ………If you want to go and see the NC Trophy,you can use last years map to find it.It hasn’t moved….. Roll Tide my friends. I bought into the hype about the Irish front seven, but our offense did pretty much anything they wanted. Out defense played lights out.

To the classy ND fans, your guys never stopped playing. Like Kelly said, now you know what it takes. Next year starts today.

Completely fraudulent and bogus game. Oregon and Texas A&M are my #1 and #2 teams. A&M killed Bama and Oregon’s loss to Stanford (a top 10 team) in OT was far less ugly than Alabama’s loss to A&M. The pollster’s and BCS love affair with Alabama and the SEC is sickening. Alabama will be in the preseason top 5 every year because of their name and their conference. They can lose a game and it really doesn’t matter. Beating Notre Dame proves nothing because Notre Dame beat virtually no one of consequence this year and they would have lost to Pitt at home if Pitt had not botched a 30 yard chip shot. Alabama is a bogus, fraudulent team. Give me Oregon, give me A&M any day of the week.

Deb: I was really pleased to see the attention given Barrett post-game. He was all smiles and communicates well. His answer to the question about playing three positions was fabulous.

I thing the Aggies benefited from ‘Bama playing LSU the week before. They would have been on the losing end had they played with Saban preparing his team for better than a month.

Congrats to ND for not giving up and playing for 60 minutes; they stayed classy. Ditto for Coach Kelly and his post-game comments. This where teams learn to shrug it off and come back ready to rumble next September. It ain’t over for ND.

Now for the haters, I guess we’ve answered all those sillyass questions and snarky comments regarding weak schedules and over-rated conferences and such. I guess our best answer is to simply give you what you want: even more reason to hate- and fear- Saban, The Tide and the SEC. Hate on, children. RFTR.
