Alabama is going to be hard to beat, next year. We have two weeks off, before we play aTm.....Nick doesn't lose back-to-back games, against the same team or coach.

AJ MacCarron and TJ Yeldon will finish the year, in NY for the Heisman Trophy Presentation.

The SEC will continue to dominate CFB. They will keep the Crystal in this conference. Our defense is no longer young, and inexperienced. We may play Vandy in the SEC CG....which I think goes away, when the play-offs arrive. Mike Slive will not be okay with the current selection, and it won't work.

pricecube,

You saw the ";)" correct?

That being said, ND isn't a very good team as they didn't beat a real quality opponent all year long. They were exposed as shallow, slow, and weak talent-wise compared to Bama.

The Gators on the other hand just laid a stinker, a bad one not basically showing up and the Cards played their best game of the season. Again, congrats to Charlie Strong, great coach, great man.

Put another way, if ND played Bama 10 more times, does anyone in the world think that ND would win?

The same isn't true with the Gators vs. the Cardinals.

@ CB Monster and DK.

CB - Never said Urban had anything to do with the schedule, just said it was horrendously soft... and before Urban runs his mouth about how they can compete with 'anyone'... they need to play MANY more 'someones'. 12-0 against last years schedule is nothing to start beating chests about. I felt the same way about Michigan's schedule last year.

Oh DK... Appy state and Toledo are soooo yesterday's news. 2007 and 2008??? Seriously? Not even remotely the same team or coaching staff... but... Keep hanging your hat on that! ; )

Monster - see the overall record... and buckle up as we groom a true QB.

@Pole - sorry, completely disagree with your OSU assessment. You seem to have a short term memory problem about scheduling. OSU has taken on Miami, USC, Texas, Cal (was in the top 10 when this was scheduled), Arizona (top 10 at the time), Washington (top 10 when scheduled), had Tennessee and Vandy scheduled but dropped. I won't throw stones about cup cakes in our schedule when TSUN's is littered with them as well - the only difference is that we win beat our cupcakes - see Toledo and Appy State!

I never agreed with that kind of one game extrapolation. Using the same logic Clemson, Northwestern and Louisville would be elite SEC teams if they played in the conference this yr.

I do not believe that either. :)

Stanford will build a dynasty that lasts for the foreseeable future. Think about it. Where else will a 130 IQ big boy want to go? Harvard? Duke? Not likely.

Stanford gives bright athletes the best opportunity to play major division football at the best academic institution. Why would a great player with a great mind choose to go anywhere else? Stanford will have a monopoly on the best and brightest.

note to author: that was the same crew last night ignoring holding calls, blowing interference calls, and letting milliner push, shove, and nearly tackle after 5 yards all game, that supposedly gave ND the game over Stanford..pft, give me a break.
ps Thanks for the doubt for next year, please be sure to share with the players. great motivation (as if they didnt have enough already)

I couldn't agree with you more polegojim, Ohio State does have a cream puff schedule. They shouldn't be allowed to play teams every year that are guaranteed wins. Although, it is nice for the Buckeyes to always win the last game of the regular season.

Fun, fun, fun article, JT.

Hmmm ... I'll go out on a limb for 2014 and predict that--based on the way playoffs have been structured--they'll cause as many problems as they solve, if not more. And people will be screaming for something else before the ball drops on 2015.

As to next season, I would dearly love to see a purely defensive player win the Heisman. So right now, Clowney tops my wish list. But Lache Seastrunk gets points for having the best name.

I'm most looking forward to watching Johnny Football, Bret Bielema, and Ohio State to see what they will bring. And I'm looking forward to watching Spurrier because he's always a trip. If Pinkel can't make Mizzou more competitive, he needs to go. If Kiffen goes, I hope it's somewhere that he can continue to entertain. No, I don't believe Notre Dame will slip--Kelly is a better coach than that, and he's a realist. I think he'll regroup. And I never underestimate what Les Miles can pull out of his hat.

I expect my Tide to keep rolling, but will make no predictions about three-peats. Just happy to be in the mix. Yes ... I think the SEC will continue to dominate ... of course :)

Against a schedule that was the toughest in the country preseason the Irish were suppose to go 8-4 maybe 9-3. They went 12-0 and the reason is the schedule wasn't as hard as we thought. Next year the Irish have a favorable schedule but they won't get calls and won't have any luck. Sports Analyst could learn a lot from Alabama football. It helps to be consistent. The most dangerous thing about ND next season is that this team hasn't taken on the mentality of its coach. Coach Kelly is an up tempo offense, score lots of point type guy. He has had to change his style while at ND. Next season it all comes together. The Irish offense will finish in the top 25 in yards nationally.

No Aaron Murray on you Heisman Watch?? LOL!!! Way to instantly de-legitimize yourself right off the bat!! UGA returns their entire offense…which was tops in the nation (go look at the stats)
==========================

I did.... they aren't even tops in the SEC... They aren't even top 20....

I do agree that Aaron Murray should be on Heisman watch lists. AJ McCarron too...

The Aggies have a SERIOUS shot at a title next year. Their schedule has seriously opened up for them. 8 home games, no Georgia, no Florida, no S. Carolina, & they get Bama at home EARLY in the season. If, thats a BIG if, they get past that game.... They might be a shoe in even if they lose in Death Valley at night... LSU's schedule is WAY too tough and they lost WAY too many players for them to go through with only 1 loss.

I think the SEC West will be decided very early next year. 9/16/13

Polegojim: Even though you are a Michigan fan I normally respect your posts. You must have had a weak moment in the one above. First of all Urban had nothing to do with this years schedule. Secondly you rank ND and Air Force as tough scheduling? I will give you Alabama, who exposed Michigan just as they did ND. Let's face it, Michigan has been no better than OSU in scheduling creampuffs. Does it need to change? Absolutely! Both teams need to play better competition during the year. I am not sure the new additions to the big ten will help.

I used to dream about the day I could by season tickets, now I can afford them, but I won’t buy them.
@gfunk5299

If you have the budget for season tickets I would encourage you to do so. Because, if biggest reason for not watching is ESPN think about what you WON'T be doing if you're traveling, tailgating, and attending the game? That's right. Watching TV. Then you spend the rest of the weekend not watching TV because you have to do all the stuff you put off on Saturday.

I've gone without cable for 6 months, and I love it. Most of the lesser Bowl games could be streamed on ESPN3 without paying, including the Rose Bowl. For the two I actually had to watch that were blacked out I went to a freinds house/bar.

But, I agree with the SEC dominance isn't a good thing for long term groth. And it will probably push more fans away after this is a playoff.

JT notes my continued rub on OSU... among many.

Michigan schedules Alabama, Notre Dame, and Air Force... OSU schedules teams like Miami OH and Buffalo.

OSU schedules cream puffs outside the B1G, then states they can play with 'anyone' in the country.
Yeh... right.

Hey Urban... how about actually giving that a shot and scheduling some tougher non-conf teams? Put your schedule where your mouth is.
