That being said, ND isn’t a very good team as they didn’t beat a real quality opponent all year long. They were exposed as shallow, slow, and weak talent-wise compared to Bama.

The Gators on the other hand just laid a stinker, a bad one not basically showing up and the Cards played their best game of the season. Again, congrats to Charlie Strong, great coach, great man.

Put another way, if ND played Bama 10 more times, does anyone in the world think that ND would win?

The same isn’t true with the Gators vs. the Cardinals.

CB – Never said Urban had anything to do with the schedule, just said it was horrendously soft… and before Urban runs his mouth about how they can compete with ‘anyone’… they need to play MANY more ‘someones’. 12-0 against last years schedule is nothing to start beating chests about. I felt the same way about Michigan’s schedule last year.

I never agreed with that kind of one game extrapolation. Using the same logic Clemson, Northwestern and Louisville would be elite SEC teams if they played in the conference this yr.

I do not believe that either.

I saw a Pat Forde quote, “So here’s the deal: If it snows on your campus, you’re no longer invited to play for the BCS national championship.”

Stanford gives bright athletes the best opportunity to play major division football at the best academic institution. Why would a great player with a great mind choose to go anywhere else? Stanford will have a monopoly on the best and brightest.

Hmmm … I’ll go out on a limb for 2014 and predict that–based on the way playoffs have been structured–they’ll cause as many problems as they solve, if not more. And people will be screaming for something else before the ball drops on 2015.

As to next season, I would dearly love to see a purely defensive player win the Heisman. So right now, Clowney tops my wish list. But Lache Seastrunk gets points for having the best name.

I’m most looking forward to watching Johnny Football, Bret Bielema, and Ohio State to see what they will bring. And I’m looking forward to watching Spurrier because he’s always a trip. If Pinkel can’t make Mizzou more competitive, he needs to go. If Kiffen goes, I hope it’s somewhere that he can continue to entertain. No, I don’t believe Notre Dame will slip–Kelly is a better coach than that, and he’s a realist. I think he’ll regroup. And I never underestimate what Les Miles can pull out of his hat.

I expect my Tide to keep rolling, but will make no predictions about three-peats. Just happy to be in the mix. Yes … I think the SEC will continue to dominate … of course

A&Ms offense produced more yds and more points… the two stats MOST people analyze when they try to determine who has the better offense…

UGA wasn’t top 20 in total offense and barely top 20 in scoring offense… to take a stat like yds per play and equate that to being “the top offense in the nation” is a bit misleading…

If you have the budget for season tickets I would encourage you to do so. Because, if biggest reason for not watching is ESPN think about what you WON’T be doing if you’re traveling, tailgating, and attending the game? That’s right. Watching TV. Then you spend the rest of the weekend not watching TV because you have to do all the stuff you put off on Saturday.

I’ve gone without cable for 6 months, and I love it. Most of the lesser Bowl games could be streamed on ESPN3 without paying, including the Rose Bowl. For the two I actually had to watch that were blacked out I went to a freinds house/bar.

But, I agree with the SEC dominance isn’t a good thing for long term groth. And it will probably push more fans away after this is a playoff.
