Ralph Fridgen was a good football coach and was Coach of the Year in the ACC when he was fired! Edsall is a TERRIBLE FIT for that job; has CREATED a mess; and I’ve found that for the most part teams that have “good luck” somehow CREATE it! Or in this case he “created bad luck”. Edsall at Maryland is like Rich Rod at Michigan: just NOT A GOOD FIT! Was Yow the AD at Maryland when Ralph was fired? If so, that answers many questions.

The Terps have plenty of viable QB’s, with one coming in here next year. Burns knew he wouldnt get a chance to play behind Brown and Hillis.

UMD already has 1 4* and a couple 3* OL commits, as well as a 5* WR coming in opposite Stefon Diggs, so the Terps offense is shaping up.

They do have the soon to be freshman from the Gilman program in Baltimore, Shane Cockerille, coming to College Park.

Edsall gets this season to show major improvements, if not the Terps will need to make a big splash as they head into the Big Ten with a name Coach. Under Armour has been trying to make the Terps into the east coast version of Oregon and KP will attempt to use his influence to grow his company and alma mater in the Big Ten.

This is a sensationalist, wrong, and dumb headline. “Nightmare”? Really? Burns was like No. 6 on the depth chart. They have better QB options returning, plus better incoming prospects. Nothing against him, understand why he is leaving, but he was not going to be the guy at QB unless they had even worse injuries next year than this past one.

Agree with you: firing Ralph was a tremendous error in judgement. But NOT HIRING Mike Leach was the second error in judgment.

I’m not sure what worse: an article about Maryland football or me wasting 29 seconds of my life commenting on it. But you know what will fix that …. Moving the the BIG 10. Oh wait, that conference is horrible and a laughing stock in the college football world. Actually, it sounds like a perfect match.
