Getty ImagesVirginia Tech cornerback Antone Exum made positive headlines over the holidays for being in the giving mood and impacting the lives of three young boys.
Turns out, Exum wasn’t done. The junior gave a present of another kind to the Hokie faithful Wednesday when he informed the team’s coaching staff that he’ll be staying for another year instead of entering the NFL draft.
“I officially will be returning for my senior season with my team!” Exum tweeted. ”Working towards ACC and National titles!”
Exum finished the year with five interceptions, 16 pass breakups and two forced fumbles, but had a major impact in the Hokies’ win against Rutgers in the Russell Athletic Bowl.
Exum has really matured this season. He seemed to be a hothead early on but has grown into the best corner VT has had since Flowers. Glad to see he is coming back and I bet it’ll payoff in the 2014 draft
He was definitely one of our only bright spots this year.
With a new offensive coordinator bringing back smash mouth football, Bud Foster won’t have to pull all of the weight like he has recently. VT has won football games despite a pathetic offense for years. Interesting to see what happens when they actually have one.
