I’m fairly certain most decent coaches at PSU will depart within the next 2 seasons or so once they realize how bad it’s going to get.

This is just the beginning of a long and continuous exodus…

I get that it’s his alma mater but IMO he’s leaving for an inferior job. Even with the penalties at PSU they are still bringing in some blue chippers. Is Georgia Tech really gonna be anything more than an 8-9 win team for the foreseeable future?

Bill O’Brien got a lot of respect for what he did with Penn State’s offense, but Roof was working miracles with the talent he had left on defense as well. The starting talent on the front seven was good, but the secondary talent was raw and there was little depth anywhere on that side of the ball. Roof will be missed.
