Ex-Georgia Tech WR eyeing Arkansas, Cincinnati

A month or so after announcing he was leaving the Georgia Tech football team, Jeff Greene may be zeroing in on a new football home.

Greene’s high school coach, Chad Phillips, tells the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that both Arkansas and Cincinnati are two of the potential destinations for the wide receiver. Greene, who played his high school ball in Fayetteville, Georgia, held an offer from the Bearcats prior to signing with the Yellow Jackets in february of 2011.

Phillips said Greene will remain in school at Tech through the remainder of the school year before transferring to another football program.

Greene would be forced to sit out the 2013 season if he were to transfer to either of those schools, or any other FBS program for that matter. He will have two years of eligibility remaining beginning in 2014.

It was announced after Tech’s appearance in the ACC Championship game that he was leaving the team. At the time, the 6-4, 210-pound receiver led the Yellow Jackets in receptions with 18 and receiving yards with 284.
