Ex-Tulane, UCLA coach Bob Toledo named SDSU OC

A year and some change after “resigning” from his duties as head coach of Tulane, Bob Toledo has been named the offensive coordinator for San Diego State.

Aztecs coach Rocky Long made the announcement Thursday afternoon.

“We are thrilled to add Coach Toledo to our staff,” Long said. “He has a great football mind and has done a fantastic job of developing offensive talent. His knowledge of California football will only help our recruiting as we continue to build our program here at San Diego State.”

Toledo was 15-40 in four-plus years with the Green Wave, which did not win more than four games in a single season during that span. Toledo was also the head coach of the UCLA Bruins from 1996-2002 where he put together a 49-32 overall record.

Toledo replaces Andy Ludwig, who joined Gary Andersen at Wisconsin.
