I don’t get where you guys are coming from with that nonsense about A&M hushing up Manziel’s misdemeanors. We’ve been reading about them right here on CFT, and they’ve certainly been covered in other media outlets.

Frankly, I don’t think driving without a license or the other things kids get into every day in any way compares to lying about a dying girlfriend, selling commemorative leis at games to raise money on her behalf, continuing to promote this insane story after you’ve told your coach and school you were supposedly duped. This whole thing is way out there on the sick and crazy scale.

Manziel’s issues weren’t a hushed up secret at all. The reason nobody knew about them earlier is because nobody outside of Texas really knew who he was before the end of September. Once he started to join the Heisman race his issues were pretty well documented.

Wouldn’t it be awesome if somebody took one of these ridiculous questions and totally went the other way with “I wasn’t shocked at all. Even though I barely knew Manti and hadn’t been following his personal life, I still instinctively knew that his girlfriend was a fabrication. And I’ve never trusted the Tuiasosopo clan since my grandfather warned me about them when I was a little kid…”

Good Old Johnny Manziel is not the righteous person he has been protrayed to be. Some votors felt he should not have been on the ballot because he has 3 misdemeanor charges hanging over his head that have not been resolved. These are from June 2012, long before the season started. These have been quietly hushed over the long season. The charges are not flattering and can easily be overlooked as youthful exhuberance. Having an illegal Louisiana Drivers license may be a youthful indescretion but it also can lead to much trouble down the road if not caught at that time.

Some writers said he did not deserve to be on the ballot due to these unresolved charges. That made two losers on the ballot with the best MAN among the three and fully worthy of the heisman, Collin Klein out in the cold.

Everyone likes a good joke and a good hoax as long as they are duped into a big, big lie. Lannay Kekua & Manti Te’o is a great sad misleading hoax to get him sympathy votes for the Heisman but the best altime sports hoax involved Sidd Finch, written by George Plimpton in April 1, 1985 edition of Sports Illustrated. What a great story about a non-existant athlete. It was an April fools joke and a lot of people bought it. Here is that article:

Sounds as though Manziel has learned a couple of things during his brief time on the national stage. And from previous articles it seems A&M is making a better effort preparing him for the pitfalls of fame. Right now it looks as though Notre Dame’s only interest is helping Te’o weave a more complicated web.
