Just before signing day is coming Mark richt is not about to be very happy about all this and change of plans for his recruiting jumping ship.Hang in there Mark..IMO Todd will go to the pros and leave the defense recruits shaky as hell.I never liked the Eagles anyways.

I cannot believe this newsperson continues to employ Seth Emerson. He was ushered out of Columbia, SC when he was at The State newspaper. Of course, it is the Macon Telegrahp (circ. under 1,000). Hey Seth:
where is your story on Mantei Te’o? or Gary Grey? I couldn’t stand reading you then and sorry you have popped up again with this story. But do have a quality day….in Macon.

If the defense doesn’t change the chances are more in favor of the kid staying as well. CMR is a reason a lot of the kids come to UGA, so it may have a minimal affect, but if a new DC comes in, I hope it is a 3-4 guy or there will have to be a whole lot of teaching in the spring and fall, before the season starts. I have read where some people say it is not a big transition from a 3-4 to 4 or visa versa, and I have to disagree there. About the only guys that don’t see a major change in responsibility are the CB’s, and even then, they can’t afford to cheat and blitz as much as they could in the 3-4. This could be an interesting year for the SEC. I hope, it causes minimal damage because I think the SEC East teams are coming back.

News like this bothers me as UGA fan. Grantham did some great things at UGA. Yeah his defense wasn’t as good last year but they have a system in place and have recruted based off of that system. If Grantham leaves, UGA will be worse off on the defensive side of the ball despite the starters that have already left.

Signing day isn’t until Feb. 6th. Each year, you see players leave because the coach that recruited them, moves on or is fired. Foster, formally of Auburn is a classic example.
M. Adams has shown recent interest in Florida, but he is also sensitive to coaching changes , and you can see that, in how he reacted to UGA coach Garner going to Auburn. Until the pen hits the paper, these kids can still be jittery and a lot of these kids built good relationships with the coaches, and it does have an effect on them.

It won’t hurt UF signing wise given Boom’s accomplishments as a defensive coach. It will just put more on his plate finding a suitable replacement. Who wouldn’t want the DC job at UF given the talent that they have returning? Very few D1 teams are in a better position for an incoming DC.

The timing of these moves, if they come about, is really bad for UGA and UF, with signing day only a couple of weeks away.
