You remember post Erickson (who i might add came from Idaho and made the U great) when Butch Davis created a monster under sanctions as SI called for the dismantling of football at Miami? He produced the greatest NCAA football team ever in 2001, in terms of NFL talent and domination. (UM has 12 guys in the games today, nearly more than the second and third schools Oregon/Florida combined).

So you can say “middle of the pack” or whatever you want, but it is quite obviously you have Benny K syndrome.

Al Golden is exceptional, and you have never heard him talk or followed him closely over the last few years. He made Temple a bowl team, and in case you missed it there are Temple kids on NFL rosters drafted in early rounds.

Last year he had UM in the ACC championship game, but chose to impose sanctions to clean up other peoples garbage. Sure they lost close games they shouldn’t have. But other great coaches that took over garbage like what Randy Shannon left needed a couple years.

I know Golden isn’t a Saban, Bowden, Stoops, Meyer name. But he is committed to taking a great brand at the U and getting the best talent in the country and making it great again.

I like the current state of UM. You can hate all you want. But others in the talking head circles like what they see with Golden too.

And dude Ed Reed was a Tulane commit. So whether Jersey kids or whatever, if Golden sees talent and brings it….bring it! But i do prefer South Florida Talent. You know like Duke Johnson.
