Hey #packerbadger, any chance you can try to criticize University of Florida alums’ accomplishments, or compare them to UW’s? We only have 2 Nobel Prize winners, 8 astronauts, 28 presidents of colleges or universities, 8 United States ambassadors, 10 United States Senators and 41 United States Representatives (okay, maybe I should have left this one out), 45 federal judges, 11 governors, 11 mayors, 56 Presidents or CEO’s of major corporations (57 if you count that redneck NASCAR thing), 25 actors or actresses, 24 classical musicians, 14 Miss Florida’s, 10 sportscasters, 29 newscasters, and 15 either Generals or Admirals in our military.

Does that at least somewhat favorably compare to what the great University of Wisconsin has produced?

Well, packerbadger, Greg McElroy, our championship quarterback, was a Rhodes Scholar candidate. Our all-world offensive lineman Barrett Jones is maintaining a 4.0 while working on his master’s in accounting. And you’re clearly preparing a blog dissertation on jackassery. But with this attack on the Ducks at least you’ve proved to be an equal-opportunity idiot rather than the SEC Hater you seemed. Apparently you go after any and all teams more successful than Wisconsin. Gee … that must not leave you time for much else.

packer badger…you hating on everyone…ducks, crimson tide, who else? Regarding the Ducks, you have no idea what the penalties will be , do you? There is a lot of speculation, and that is all it is. LSU did the same thing and their penalties were minimal.

When were the Rhodes scholars Deb…1950something? Wisconsin’s best football team is the Packers; which would crush your best team. This would be a much more fair comparison as neither team has to worry about grades. Going to college at Alabama is like me going to a small town high school in Wisconsin. Its much harder to play football AND have to actually take real college level courses. Oh, we have a really good basketball and hockey team at UW also……how are your basketball and hockey teams doing?

I’m not a Quack Attack fan, but I’m genuinely happy for them. They’re getting a guy whose heart and soul are permanently stained green and gold. It’s nice to see a guy achieve his life’s dream. Good luck, Coach. Keep up the video game numbers. Sure makes watching Oregon football fun.

Bitterness isn't becoming, packerbadger. It makes people seem sad and droopy. Alabama's championship teams have included Rhodes Scholar candidates, guys working on their master's, guys maintaining tops grades while playing football and raising a family. But if it makes you feel better about Wisconsin's football irrelevance to constantly rant that Alabama players are stupid, why have at it. Whatever gets you through the night.

Deb gets all excited about watching her high school educated college football players. I would like to see those Bama players actually take a curriculum at the Univ Wisconsin AND play football. Oh, they wouldn’t be able to play because they’d all flunk out of the first semester.

So Rich Brooks didn’t think Helfrich had the stuff? He also didn’t think NFL Hall of Fame candidate Jerome Bettis had the stuff to be a pro back–that’s why he traded him for a song to the Steelers. God bless the fool. If Rich Brooks didn’t think much of him, Helfrich probably should have been a star in Autzen long before now. Between that and these touching acceptance comments, I wish him tremendous success in his new position!
