Huh? Texas has half of the Top 10 players from Texas, including the best player in the state. A&M has 3 of the Top 10. While UT isn’t kicking A&M’s butt, I wouldn’t consider that “A&M owning the state”.

When I visited last fall for the A&M/LSU game. A&M fans were very gracious and quite knowledgeable about SEC football and college football in general.

Even though I wore an Alabama polo, I was warmed by the special affection
A&M had for Bear and the storied history that both schools have together.
That was accented when Johnny @#$!& Football came to Tuscaloosa and helped engineer an upset of the Tide. A&M deserved the win. The winner of that game is in the driver seat for the SEC West.

As a Gator fan, I was initially skeptical about TAMU going to the SEC and thought that Mizzou had a bit more consistency.
Now, it looks like the Aggies traditions fit right in with the SEC and there fanbase is dedicated and perfect for the SEC. Also, there football team looks like its going to be elite for quite a while and even there basketball team beat Kentucky!
Looks like the SEC has another elite program and an elite coach to go with it
