Well I certainly hope the defense improves next year. I have nothing but respect for Monte Kiffin and he is one of the great NFL coordinators, it just didn’t work out for him at USC. The defense needed a change, and it will be interesting to see if Pendergast is the change it needed. He has an interesting task ahead of him with the lack of depth and how that affects practice routines/contact/etc. Cal had some solid defenses while Pendergast was there, they were poor last year but their whole team was too. I just hope USC is better next year, this was a rough year.

Clancy will have some good athletes to work with, so it seems the defense should improve.
But then again, Kiffin Sr. had NFL experience and how well did that work? Another season to waid through for the Trojans, something I will enjoy watching.
