Steve Spurrier rewards two reporters with a $100 cash prize

Hey, it’s an offseason Saturday. And it’s Steve Spurrier doing Steve Spurrier things. In this instance, those “Spurrier things” involved handing two reporters an envelope containing a $100 bill for answering a trivia question correctly.

Spurrier was meeting reporters today to talk about the Gamecocks’ new defensive line coach, Deke Adams (Spurrier also took a nice parting shot at former D-line coach Brad Lawing, who left for Florida). That’s when Spurrier asked those in attendance if they could name all the college football teams with 11 wins in each of the past two seasons. South Carolina, obviously, was one, along with Alabama, Oregon and Stanford.

Two reporters got the question right, so Spurrier reached into his coat pocket and pulled out two envelopes containing $100 bills and handed it to them before walking away. The two reporters looked inside to find a $100 bill.

Random, but alright then.
