ND should not have been there. But they were. There were a few games (Pitt being the most obvious) they should have lost during the season but they got really lucky and won them.

Their being Notre Dame – if all the other teams have one loss and ND is unbeaten – what do you expect?

In the game itself Alabama couldn’t have played better, Notre Dame couldn’t have played worse.

FYI – I am an ND fan and next week is NSD.

ND played 10 bowl teams in 2012. But trolls will be trolls. All ND has to do is basically schedule one SEC team each year and it should quiet the haters down. But SEC teams won’t travel out of the south. Only LSU travels sometimes.

I mean Jason unless you are 12 your act is old. ND has USC, Arizona State, Stanford, Oklahoma, Texas, Miami, MSU, Rutgers, Northwestern, and Michigan on either future or upcoming schedules. ND isn’t ducking anyone. In fact with the ACC agreement approaching they will be taking on teams like Florida State, Va Tech, Georgia Tech, and Clemson as well. Keep picking out Navy and Purdue but two teams would mash North Texas and Jacksonville St- the teams the SEC schedules.

I don’t think PEDs played a role in the title game, unless Alabama had 55 gallon drums of steroids in the locker room. I’m a ND fan and every player on the tide outplayed every player on ND. Now it might come out 1 or 2 players did cross the line but I’m sure the other 9 or 10 just manhandled their counterpart. Ped’s didn’t put the schemes out there that had Golston unaware what the defense was doing. That defense returned him to the confused freshman he was at the beginning of the season. The Irish have got to face it, they faced a teamthat doesn’t allow you to get away with mistakes and they made a ton of them. They got spanked. Now they see where the bar is set and they must figure out how they are going to clear it.

Hmmm let’s see Ohio st did run the table with the 67th ranked schedule Oregon lost to a team that ND beat Florida lost to a big east team and Georgia crushed by that same Florida team that lost to a big east team. Really not sure where you are going with this

Wow, you ND fans are touchy. Yeah Alabama, Fla, Ohio St, Georgia,Oregon, and a few others could have run the table with Wake Forest, Navy, BC, Pitt, Purdue on their schedule. Get over it.

Like, did you know that ND’s schedule prior to the beginning of the season was ranked as the toughest schedule in the country??? Yes, in the country!

Now it didn’t work out that way but that is what all the “experts” said it was. Even tougher than all the SEC schools!!

How else can ND better their schedule if it is ranked the toughest in the country?

Tremendous history or not…didnt help ND in the title game did it? Yes every team has a few gimmes, but most good teams would go undefeated with ND’s schedule.

A good example of that is Oklahoma vs Oklahoma State. For years, Oklahoma would just kill State every year. Now, however, State has really improved their program and can play with Oklahoma. What goes around, comes around, usually.

Every team in all the major conferences schedule a few “easy” games. Some choose far easier games. As for ND, some of those teams are match ups that have tremendous history to them. For instance, Navy and ND will play as long as Navy wants because during the World War Navy Made it possible for ND to continue living as a university. Nearly every team ND play used to be a heated rivalry to some degree…but as with all rivalries they have down years or even decades.

Notre Dame learned a valuable lesson…scheduling BC, Purdue, Navy, etc does you no good. Join the ACC already.
