Mizzou fills lone hole in 2013 schedule

With the start of spring practice just around the corner, and the 2013 season just down the road from that, Missouri has put the finishing touches on its schedule for the upcoming year.

In joint announcements, Mizzou and Arkansas State confirmed that the school schools have reached an agreement on a home-and-home series. The Tigers will host the Red Wolves Sept. 28 this year and travel for a Sept. 12, 2015, game in Jonesboro.

With the addition of ASU, Mizzou’s non-conference schedule will consist of Murray State (8/31), Toledo (9/07) and Indiana (9/21).

“We’re very pleased to finish out our 2013 schedule with a quality opponent such as Arkansas State,” said executive associate athletic director Bryan Maggard. “Due to recent changes in the Sun Belt Conference, we were able to secure this game, and we appreciate the efforts of Arkansas State’s administration in making this happen.”

Per the release, Mizzou and Arkansas State have played twice previously, with the Tigers claiming wins in 2004 (52-20 in Columbia) and 2005 (44-17 in Kansas City).
