Top uncommitted 2013 recruit narrows list to three SEC schools

With just a handful of days until National Signing Day remaining, and other than consensus No. 1 Robert Nkemdiche, Reuben Foster continues to be the highest-rated recruit on the Rivals100 board who has yet to commit.

Come early next week, however, that will change.

Foster will announce Monday, two days ahead of signing day, to which school he will (again) verbally commit during a nationally-televised “event.” His Auburn High School coach tells Rivals.com that the linebacker will choose from three SEC schools -- Alabama, Auburn and Georgia.

“He has some really good choices,” head coach Tim Carter told the website. “Reuben was in Athens last week and they were talking to him about being like Jarvis Jones on defense, getting after the passer. Auburn has a new staff, but he knows the area so well. Alabama has done a nice job too. It’s hard to tell right now.”

Foster had originally committed to Alabama in the summer of 2011 before flipping to hometown Auburn the following summer. After Gene Chizik and his staff were fired following the 2012 season -- and after Foster showed his allegiance by getting some Auburn ink on his right forearm -- Foster decommitted from the Tigers and reopened his recruitment in early December.

As one of Rivals’ 33 five-star players in the Class of 2013, Foster is rated as the No. 1 linebacker in the country and the No. 13 player at any position. He’s also the No. 1 player in the state of Alabama.

Along with Foster and Nkemdiche, there are 11 other Rivals100 recruits who remain uncommitted.
