I think you are short-changing yourself re support for Northwestern. There are many tangential fans such as myself who root for a good showing by Northwestern. It's the smallest school in the Big Ten that has a wonderful football heritage and great academics! Admission standards are rigid but Chi Town is a great place to attend college! Those that attend Northwestern love it! Same with many of the Big Ten schools. Love that Rutgers will be part of this esteemed group of colleges!

(I'm probably the only Northwestern fan on here and I don't get much of a chance to contribute, so I'm taking the opportunity dang it.)

1) Capacity at Wrigley for the last game against Illinois was 41,058. Sadly, that's not much different from our normal stadium (capacity of about 48,700) and the difference is easily made up by charging premiums for a Wrigley game.

2) The space issues at Wrigley are exactly why the games will not occur until 2014 at the earliest. Wrigley has already filed paperwork to make the first few rows of seats removable/movable so that we don't run into the same embarrassing one-way problem in a redux of the original game.

All in all, repeat Wrigley games will open us up to additional fans and once again puts a "buzz" around Northwestern football that we don't often have. Hopefully we can find the right opponent for the match-up.

I get the desire to make this game special, but unless the space limitations at Wrigley have been addressed (like both teams sharing a sideline, playing in same direction), why not play at Soldier Field?

This makes no sense to me because of the stadium capacity limitation. Folks who would have wanted to attend the game will now be out of luck. What is the rationale behind this move?
