The Ferentz tenure in Iowa City has grown very tiresome. The lack of a killer instinct with the coaching staff is a direct reflection on Ferentz’s lack committment. The hiring of Davis is just another display of this program’s lack of imagination. As a lifelong Hawkeye, I sure wish they would get this guy out of town.

There’s not a coach in the country with more job security than Ferentz. Due to the crazy contract Ferentz was given after their 2009 Orange Bowl season it would cost Iowa roughly $240,000 per month every month until January 2020 to fire Ferentz. No matter how bad Iowa does it will be several years until Iowa even considers firing Ferentz.

I really feel for Iowa and their fans. None of this matters until the headline is about Ferentz being fired.
