Final five-star recruit signs with Notre Dame on Signing Day

Signing Day is drawing to an end, but one of the most sought-after recruits in the country waited until this evening to sign his letter of intent.

Placer High School (Calif) defensive tackle Eddie Vanderdoes committed to Notre Dame over the likes of Alabama, UCLA and USC. Vanderdoes is listed at 6-foot-3 and 310 pounds. He is considered the No. 2 DT in this year’s class and the No. 21 overall prospect for 2013.

Notre Dame currently has the No. 4 recruiting class according to Rivals.com, but could very well move up a spot or two with this latest addition. The Irish didn’t get a lot of national pub today -- not many programs outside the SEC did -- but Brian Kelly has put together an impressive recruiting class that features three five-star recruits and 14 four-star recruits.
