Fitz Toussaint to miss spring practice recovering from broken leg

A nasty leg injury requiring surgery cut the 2012 season short for Michigan running back Fitz Toussaint. It will also delay his return to the field in 2013.

Toussaint confirmed, as expected, that he will miss spring practices recovering from the injury.

“We’re just going to play it by ear,” Toussaint told mgoblue.com. “They say each week I’ll be feeling better but I’ll do everything in my will to come back and be ready for anything.

“It’s been real difficult but I just think how mentally tough I am and I was able to focus on that. 2012 was very difficult for me so that’s what made me more physically stronger and more mentally stronger.”

Toussaint should be ready to play once the 2013 season starts next fall.

Though he missed the first game of the year because of a suspension, Toussaint led all running backs on the team (and finished second on the team) with 514 yards and five touchdowns.
