It’s like most of the times that someone says something is/was “unfair”. It’s usually a code word for “I lost, so I’m going to put, whine, tamp my feet, and hold my breath until you give me what I didn’t earn”.

I don’t know the dynamics of this young man’s family. I don’t know if his father has played any significant role in his son’s upbringing. I do know that the father has legal rights unless a court takes them away, and evidently no court did that. His signature is therefore valid–and no matter how many shyster lawyers his mother may hire, she has no legal recourse.

The SEC football players do however have a much longer rap sheet than do the other conferences.

You see, Big 10 and ACC conference STUDENT athletes actually take REAL classes and get REAL degrees and can actually READ when they graduate. Btw, we have 5 national hockey titles, a basketball title, a soccer title, rowing (crew) titles, etc. Our football program is quite good btw. How are you in the rest of your sports? PLUS, we have the Packers who have won 13 NFL titles, the Bucks who won a NBA title, the Brewers who played in a World Series, Eric Heiden who won 5 gold medals in speed skating, the first man to break 50 sec in the 100 meter freestyle, etc, etc, etc. I’ll put Wisconsin’s sports resume’ up against ANY of yours ANY day! HA!!

Q: What does a Wisconsin Badgers fan do when his team has won the BCS championship?
A: He turns off the PlayStation 3.

Simple answer, #be4bama… his conference hasn’t won 7 consecutive national championships but he wants to think he’s a winner anyway. Unfortunately, we all know better. Someone needs to tell him/her/it that once you get out of 2nd grade they stop giving trophies to everyone just for participating.

Your comment itself was not racist. That’s somebody taking the meaning of the word and stretching it to apply his arguement. Your comment WAS, however, a generaliztion that could easily be tied to race, just as your supposition that somehow southerners, in general, are stupid. I grew up and still live in the south (although Tampa is more of a collective of all kinds and is only south by geography), and I was a National Merit Scholar coming out of high school. I COULD make a generalization about all people from Wisconsin being fat, cheese scarfing, Miller guzzling people who think they are somehow superior to everyone else. I could, but I won’t.

But you didn’t say I was factually wrong. As far as the Rhodes Scholarship…..a blind hog gets an acorn once in a while. A 4.0 at Alabama might be the equivalent of a 2.5 at Wisconsin or Michigan. I guess the SEC has to have a few people actually go to school and compete so they can say they have “student athletes”. How about looking at the whole SEC’s academic rankings compared to the ACC or Big 10. And as far as Alabama is concerned, how is your SAT/ACT rankings compared to the rest of the countries? I’ll wait right here for you to get back to me on that one.

I saw this kid give his verbal commitment on Fox Sports South and he seemed like a very bright and intelligent young man. Isn’t it a shame that northerners like packerbadger and briwis7 are the ones that are so quick to make racist, bigoted comments on here yet everybody thinks it’s the south that is full of racist? Don’t judge a book by it’s cover or color people..
