Sometimes it's in the best interest of the team and the player to remove him for a series or two so that he could see the game from a different perspective. It might settle him down and benefit from watching. My problem with Flood is 1) he never did that and 2) he didn't use Savon Huggins in the Louisville game. When a player throws 4 interception in the first half as Dodd did against Kent St., he needs to sit and watch. I believe he underutilized his assets (players) this past season because of stubbornness. I think Rutgers lost 3 of their last 4 games including a horrible bowl game loss to a very mediocre Va Tech team. The recruiting result was predictable and next year the excuse will be "our offensive line is young or we have a new secondary or we have two new coordinators, etc. he either changes his approach or Rutgers will not be competitive.

@gamecocker- I really can't fault him on losing coordinators when one got a HC job and one went to the NFL. I'm getting a little sick of Schiano poaching the staff but can't fault the guys for moving up. As for the QB situation I probably would have stuck with Nova too. He showed a lot of poise the first half season then the wheels came off. I kept thinking he would find his way but I never thought Dodd was the answer. All that being said I 100% agree with the play calling, particularly the last 4 games. Flood did a phenomenal job holding last years class together but hard to argue that this years was disappointing. Especially with Penn St pulling some recruits out STILL. The ones that really hurt were losing out on Damon Mitchell and Skai Moore after he committed. He needs to plant his flag in south Jersey and the northern parochial schools. If he could ever do that, which even Schiano didn't nail down so it's far from guaranteed, RU will explode. Hopefully next year with the move to the B1G things will start humming. Hopefully.

Kyle Flood had a mediocre recruiting class and has lost his offensive and defensive coordinator. It appears the wheels are falling off the car. His on-field personnel selections particularly regarding quarterbacks are horrible as is his play-calling. At a minimum, Rutgers should have finished 11-2 and not 9-4. They should have won the Big East outright and not be one of four teams to share the conference championship. As a result, he cost Rutgers University millions of dollars by not going to a BCS game. Unless he changes, this program will decline.
