USC TE reportedly arrested on felony burglary charges

Not-so-great news for USC as tight end Junior Pomee is facing felony charges for burglary, grand theft and possession of stolen goods.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Pomee was arrested near campus on Jan. 29 for the theft of  an iPad, an iPad Mini and an iPhone 5. He pleaded not guilty to his charges two days later. From the police report:

“DPS officers responded to an intoxicated student who passed out in an alley behind the location,. The student became combative when contacted by the officers and had to be physically subdued. The officers found the student in possession of a tablet computer and other property that did not belong to him and they subsequently determined that the items had been stolen.

“The student was then arrested and transported to [the LAPD’s Southwest Division] station for booking.”

USC later released a statement saying Pomee had been suspended from all team activities. Pomee played in every game last season as a redshirt freshman, but did not record any receiving stats.

No surprise there Haden and Kiffin welcome that type of player and recruit. If you want to punish someone start with Haden.

Should have known the kid was trouble just by the fact he was heavily recruited by Urban Meyer.

This is bad. Now, he will not be able to attend his English Composition class; and if he has too many cuts, he may fail, and that would be terrible. Of course, as a thief, he will only be suspended for one game. If convicted as a felon, he will retain the scholarship, and miss only two games. If I were the USC President, he would be kicked out of school, immediately; but I’m not the Pres, and the Athletic Dept, knows more about a players character, than any educated, advanced degree holding President.
Jocks are more important to the school, than those who goal is gaining an education, with a degree. Stupidity, reigns in the Athletic Dept……..”we want players who are not overly smart, so we can direct them towards their goal of becoming a pro player, without worrying about going to classes; and cares whether they learn The Kings
    English. “
