One of Michigan State’s best defensive players underwent what appears to be foot/ankle surgery late this week. Spartans linebacker Denicos Allen tweeted a photo of his left foot in a cast with the caption “surgery went well on the road to recovery.”
Allen was third on the team in 2012 with 79 tackles, 10 of which went for a loss. He also had three sacks, a forced fumble and recovery, and an interception.
Michigan State has started spring conditioning drills, but it’s not clear how long the senior-to-be and All-Big Ten honorable mention will be out while he recovers.
